“I want my work to sail midstream between the expressive and the aesthetic.
I want it to have an impersonal kind of drama that comes through the total
body language, like in a dance drama. The work starts from one of the sides
and leans towards the other. When I look back on a work it is this midway
tension that recreates it for me not the original concept.”  K G SUBRAMANYAN
