100 Word Stories
Story #1(Goodbye.):
I waited anxiously. Minutes ticked by. “Where are you,” I thought to myself, waiting for my friend to meet me
for the last time, before I had to leave to a foreign country forever. My dad had gotten a job in a foreign country and
my friend promised that she would be there to meet me. I was approaching the flight when I heard a faint sound of
rushed footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw my friend running towards me. “ The boarding time is about to
end,” said the flight attendant. I was about to argue, but my mom gave a stern look. ‘ Goodbye,” I whispered to
myself and stepped into the plane.
Story #2( Disatisfaction):
Exam papers with our results were being handed out. I waited anxiously. I had studied extra hard for this
exam, and expected an ‘A+’ on my paper. A paper was put face down on my table. I flipped it nervously and looked
at the score: 100/100. A wide grin had spread from ear to ear across my face. I was on cloud nine for a moment but
saw something odd. It was not my exam paper, and didn’t belong to me. I wasn’t satisfied for long, and all of that
happiness had turned to deep sorrow.
Humor Stories
Humor Story #1(The Sunday School):
The Sunday School lesson for first graders was on the plan of salvation. The teacher asked,“ If I sold my
house and my car, and gave all of the money to the church, would I go to heaven?’’
“No!” the children answered.
“If I cleaned the church every day, will I go to heaven?”
Again, the answer was no.
“Well,” she continued,
“Then how can I go to heaven?” Sources: inspire21.com

Humor Story #2(White Hair):
One girl asked her mom why she had a few strands of white hair. Her mom replied, “Well,
every time that you do something wrong and make me unhappy, one of my hair turns
white.”
The girl thought for awhile and said, “ Momma, how come all of grandma’s hair are
white?”

Technology Article New Advancements in Technology
Source: popularmechanics.com
Technology is a branch of knowledge that deals with creation and the use of technical means, and their interrelation
with life, society, and environment. Technology can take form in many ways. Google Home is an example of one of
the most recent technologies since the beginning of 2017. Voice-activated artificial intelligence, wireless charging,
and digitized note-taking provides just a hint of what is to come. More than anything, as tech evolves this year, the
main benefit will be that life becomes a bit easier. Toyota Concept-i is another major technology that has been
introduced in 2017.Toyota doesn't believe the future of the car is only about teaching vehicles to drive for us. While
the Concept-i vehicle shown at CES would be capable of driving autonomously, its biggest draw is the artificial
intelligence that powers it. Toyota claims the car will be able to learn more about the drivers' preferences and needs
over time, such as suggesting destinations after a driver chats with the vehicle's virtual assistant, called "Yui." Lastly,
we have the virtual reality glasses, which have been spoken about in 2016, but only released around 2017. Consisting
of a structure that allows you to see in 3D, these glasses are a worldwide popular, with mixed opinions from various
customers. Many companies have been trying to make successful VR glasses, but the Oculus Rift has received the
most positive feedback so far. Upcoming technologies includes Google Glasses, Google’s self driving cars, and Leap
Motion.

Medical News (The common flu)
A common issue students face in their daily lives includes battling the very common
flu. Also called influenza, this is a viral infection that has impacts ranging from mild to severe. It
can be very contagious(spread easily), and can be prevented with the use of vaccines. Its
symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches, and
fatigue. Each person may have different symptoms, according to their lifestyles and daily
habits.Young children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with weak immune systems
are at high risk of getting this infection.
This infection can be spread through airborne respiratory droplets, by touching
contaminated surfaces, or unhygienic habitual practices. Seasonal flu is caused by the attack of
viruses to your immune system. It usually requires 3 to 7 days or more, to recover fully from the
infection. Seasonal flu is caused mostly in the winter. Due to the extensive time that we spend
indoors and the short days, our bodies' Vitamin D production decreases in the winter. This
decrease could leave us more susceptible to the flu for a few months and act as a ‘seasonal
stimulus’ for flu infection.
There are many ways in which you could avoid the flu. Using a hand sanitizer
frequently when outdoors, and developing hygienic habits like washing your hands, and
covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough are great preventions to defend yourself from
the quick- spreading viral infection. Getting annual vaccinations that work against the flu also
aids in the prevention. Always remember, that ‘prevention is better than cure’!

The Fall, Autumn
This photo symbolizes the climate and setting of fall. The elegant colors displayed from
trees, clear blue skies, and chilly wind symbolizes the warm autumn season. Also, the
yellow color of the leaves display the warm and cheerful mood of fall. On the whole, I
chose this picture as I love the vibrant colors of leaves during fall.
