LEARNING RESOURCE MAPS FOR DISTANCE
LEARNING

ACTIVITY 1.
The DepEd Memorandum on Suggested Strategies in Implementing LDMs for SY 2020-
2021 included the Learning Resources (LR) Map as a guide in selecting the appropriate
Distance LDM to be implemented in Schools/Divisions. Study this map and answer the
following questions in your Study Notebook:

1. Based on the map, what resources should you have in order to implement the LDM
adopted by your School/Division?
ANSWER: The resources should we have based on our adopted LDM are Online
SLM and Online activities/exercises for ODL and any of the available learning
resource Activity sheets for Blended DL.

The embraced modality in our school is modular distance learning.
Therefore, the tools we are going to use are written self-learning materials and
activity sheets. Modular distance learning is the adopted modality in our school.
Hence, printed self-learning materials and activity sheets are the resources that we
are going to utilize.

2. Do you have the complete resources for the Distance LDM needed in class? If the
LRs are not complete or not available, what steps will you take to make these available?
What are your options to substitute these missing LRs?

ANSWER: No, if the LRs are not complete or not available I will make my own
activities, remediation and intervention activities that are aligned to the MELCs
and suited to the learners need. I will also use substitute LR like textbooks, other
digital learning apps, LAS, teacher made ppt and videos and modified online
videos.

The school is now in the process of evaluating the SLMs we have been issued.

But educators are already using LR portals such as LRMDS and DepEd Commons

to find helpful and powerful LRs to complement the SLMs if appropriate. But

teachers are already utilizing the use of LR Portals like LRMDS and DepEd

Commons to find useful and effective LRs to supplement the SLMs if need be.

3. What support will you need to maximize the use of the two DepEd-sanctioned LR
Portals? From whom can you get this support?

ANSWER: To maximize the use of the LR Portal, we need constant support and
communication to the LR Coordinator and ICT Coordinator who are
knowledgeable, expert and skilled to navigate the LRs.

When accessing these online portals, a strong and secure internet connection
is a primary need. A support group should be formed to ensure the consistency
and appropriateness of the LRs. I am going to get support from my fellow
educators and from the ICT coordinator for technical support. A good and stable
internet connection is a primary need in accessing these online portals. A
support group to ensure the quality and appropriateness of the LRs should be
established. I will get the support from my fellow educators and the technical
support from out ICT coordinator.

4. Based on your evaluation of the materials, are they appropriate to the level and
characteristics of learners? Are there learners who might be disadvantaged by the
materials (based on reading ability, level of learning independence, level of household
support, distance)? What adjustments will you make in terms of the LRs?

ANSWER: Yes, they are appropriate to the level and characteristics of learners.
Yes, there are learners who might disadvantaged by the materials. The
adjustments that I will make are:

- Conduct remediation and intervention for those students who are not meeting
expectations

- Modify the LR to suit the needs of the learners

The tools are ideal for our learners at different levels. These tools are in editable
formats, so it should be easy to enhance or change them to suit the needs of all
learners. The resources are appropriate to the different levels of our learners.
These resources are in editable formats so improving or adjusting it to meet the
needs of all learners should be easy.

ACTIVITY 2.

In your LAC Session, share and discuss your answers from the previous activity. What
support can you provide to your colleagues and what support can you get from them in
terms of LRs? Take note of the insights that you can gather from your colleagues and
write them in your Study Notebook.

ANSWER: By providing additional learning materials that may be used and
shared to my colleagues, ensuring that these resources are aligned with the
MELCs.

Good job! You are now done with Lesson 1. Proceed to Lesson 2 to learn how to
access LRs from DepEd Portals.

LESSON 2
ACCESSING LEARNING RESOURCES FROM DepEd

PORTALS

ACTIVITY 1.
Establish access to the following portals:
1. LRMDS Portal. Ensure that you have an LRMDS Portal Account. If you have not
registered yet, follow the LR Portal User Guide to guide you in your registration process.
Alternatively, seek assistance from any of your colleagues or your IT personnel in your
school, district, or division. You may also coordinate with your LAC Leader and/or
Coach. To understand the portal better, you may watch the LR Portal Video Tutorial
located in the resources of this Course.

2. DepEd Commons. Ensure that you have access to DepEd Commons. Refer to
Memorandum on DepEd Commons dated March 17, 2020.

Explore the Portals. In your Study Notebook, answer the following questions:
1. Given the LDM adopted in your School, how can the two DepEd portals respond to
your LR needs and those of your learners’? How do they complement the LRs that you
already have?
ANSWER: The two DepEd portals provide substantial assistance in furnishing our
SLMs for instructional support needed for learners. These DepEd portals provide
quality and digitized versions of resources that I can use as supplementary
instructional materials for learners aside from the LR that I already have.

The LRMDS and DepEd Popular portals provide our SLMs with complementary
materials that we can download, enhance and adapt to meet the needs of all our
students. To complement the current LRs that I have prepared, it provides a range
of learning experiences. The LRMDS and DepEd Common portals provide
supplementary materials to our SLMs that we can download, improve and adjust
to meet the needs of all our learners. It gives variety of learning activities to
complement the existing LRs I have prepared.

2. What are the challenges in accessing the LRs in the portals both for you and your
learners? How will you overcome these challenges?
ANSWER: Limited access to LR Portal because of unstable connection and limited
internet usage. A weak or very slow internet connection is the biggest obstacle
when accessing these portals. The alternative approach is to find some place
where the reception of the signal is stronger. The biggest challenge in accessing
these portals is a poor or very slow internet connection. The alternative way is to

find some place where the signal reception is better. Internet signal. Internet issue
is beyond our control.

3. What support will you need to be able to maximize the use of the LR Portals? From
whom can you get this support?

ANSWER: To maximize the use of the LR Portal, we need constant support
and communication to the LR Coordinator and ICT Coordinator who are
knowledgeable, expert and skilled to navigate the LRs. When accessing these
online portals, a strong and secure internet connection is a primary need. A
support group should be formed to ensure the consistency and appropriateness
of the LRs. I'm going to get support from my fellow educators and from the ICT
coordinator for technical support. A good and stable internet connection is a
primary need in accessing these online portals. A support group to ensure the
quality and appropriateness of the LRs should be established. I will get the
support from my fellow educators and the technical support from out ICT
coordinator.

ACTIVITY 2.
In your next LAC Session, share and discuss your answers to the questions in Activity 1.
Explore how you can help and support each other in using the LR portals. Jot down the
insights and helpful information regarding the use of the LR portals in your Study
Notebook.
ANSWER: We need to ensure the appropriateness of the data that we
downloaded. In case difficulties arise when accessing the said portals, we agreed
to provide technical assistance. We have also agreed to include these portal
updates in our upcoming LAC sessions.

- Orientation on the use of LR portal
- Track the most number of topics across subject areas visited in the

portal

Good job! You are done with Lesson 2. You may now proceed to Lesson 3.

ANSWER: None, because the learning material I developed was downloaded to the
DepEd LR Portal and it is quality checked by content experts. The complexity of
material has satisfied my students' learning needs.

ACTIVITY 4.
Share and discuss your answers to the questions in Activities 1, 2, and 3 in your next
LAC Session. Jot down insights and information that can be useful to you in choosing
the appropriate LRs.
ANSWER: - DLDM and its sub-categories has required learning resources.

- Learners who are not meeting expectations shall be provided with
remediation while those who may accomplish the tasks as contained in the SLMs
shall be given enrichment activities.

- Other textbooks/LMs and Teacher-made videos/modules may supplement
the required learning resources for each DLDM.

- According to Memorandum DM-CI-2020-00162, the primary learning
resource that shall be used are the self-learning modules (SLMs) developed by
the regions for the implementation of the Alternative Delivery Modes. The digital
format of the SLMs shall be uploaded to the LR Portal and DepEd Commons.
We were able to understand how important it is to evaluate the various SLMs or
self-learning modules that can be collected or downloaded on different websites,
such as LR Portals or DepEd Commons, at the end of our LAC session

Submit your LR assessments with your reflection on the exercises to your LAC Leader.
Ensure that you keep a copy for yourself.
