JULY 2018

Original Aspen Meadows from 1960

CAESNPETENRMGEEATDSOAWNSERWEFCAECPETION

Aspen Meadows Reception Center recently got a new face, literally and
figuratively. Aspen Institute Trustee’s recently voted to rename the reception
center after the former President, Walter Issacson. In addition to the name
change, the Institute, Shaw Construction and Jeffery Berkus Architects
renovated and added to the original building that was constructed in 1955.
The renovation incorporated a modern design aesthetic, while preserving the
buildings key elements. The addition of the Pavilion expanded the restaurant
and allows for the reception center to host events all year-round.

BACK IN THE DAY @SHAW

Shaw Construction’s founder, George Shaw as a young boy.

The first house George Shaw built.

Habitat for Humanity in 2013 with Paul Bonin (bottom left) and Steve Meyer (top center). 11

DID YOU K N O W ?

The first permanent structure built in Denver was not a hospital,
bank or house - it was a saloon. Which is appropriate, since Denver
now brews more beer than any other city in the nation, with over 250
different beers brewed daily.

Shaw completed construction of the Mockery Brewery in RiNo in 2015.
