You were caring & sharing & crazy & fun,
You dreamt & danced, but were never done.

You were a mother, a sister, a grandma, a friend too,
A woman that bridged gaps, regardless of who was who.

You listened & laughed & shared & joked, & laughed some more & cried,
You shared wisdom & experience, your compassion & free spirit were your pride.

Your legacy lives on, your memories shine bright,
You are the brightest star we see at night.

Butterflies have a magical presence.

They are graceful & beautiful.

Their journey through life is reflective of the spiritual path.

A butterfly represents transformation & creativity, endless potential, vibrancy,
joy & change, & ability to experience the wonder of life. The life cycle of the
butterfly also holds an insight for us as well as possible spiritual symbolism.

It is birthed from an egg & lives its early life as a caterpillar. It then retreats
within the cocoons where it undergoes a transformation & is reborn
as a beautiful butterfly. The life of the butterfly mirrors the process of spiritual
transformation as we all have the possibility to be reborn through going
within.

By retreating from the world into our inner being, surrounding ourselves
in cocoons of prayer, & meditation, we begin to emerge - awakened & ready
to fly. We are transformed.

Butterflies also don’t live long, which offers us guidance that life is short. Time
moves quickly & so the butterfly, with its magnificent & yet short life, reminds
us to enjoy the here & now. The transformation continues even through the
hereafter as we retreat from the physical world & are reborn into another
dimension, where we get our wings & learn how to fly.
