Parents Evening I have been really involved in monitoring of one sort or another this week...Tuesday saw me 'Pupil
Voice' monitoring. I asked a representative of our children from each class to come and talk to me
7th and 8th February about school life and their learning thus far this year. It was a pleasure to spend time with them and
hear their views. 'Pupil Voice' is all about hearing about the things that matter to our children and
Please book your then sharing their views with the people that need to know. We can then learn from them and sup-

There was an incredibly positive response, with most children loving being at BJS. They were thankful

How does your teacher mark your work? What do you find helpful about the feedback?
All children said their teachers marked their work. They like positive comments. They knew about
highlighted work and older children talked about the codes (sp/g/p etc.) to help them know what
needed improving. They like being given time to respond. They look forward to share their work with
you at Parent Partnership Evenings (7th and 8th February).
Aren't our children amazing...and my lovely hard working staff...just look at what
they do after their working day...booster sessions, craft club, imagineering just to
mention a few...!
Have a great weekend,
Children’s University
As you know this week we held passport control for Children's
University.
Once again we were amazed by the array of different activities
our pupils take part in and how quickly the stamps are
building up.
We saw some beautiful pieces of work coming in from children
who had taken up the CU Christmas Challenge and done baking,
made hot chocolate, written stories, created games, made
decorations and written stories. Well done to you all.
We are thrilled this week to have given out our first 5 Children's
University pin badges to Freya, Ruby, Elizabeth, Logan and
Harrison who have all achieved 20 or more stamps in their
passports! This is particularly impressive when you remember
that the children only got their passports in November!
