BILTON C F E Headlines
JUNIOR SCHOOL
Hello Everyone,
SPECIAL
POINTS OF You know I always say that we have had a busy week....well this week we have had a really busy
INTEREST: week!

Spring All children in school have been using a wonderful animation called 'The Lost Thing' . Children from
Fever from Year 3-6 have been given opportunity to write at length. If you fancy watching the animation at home
and discussing what they have been doing then please do. It is great to share super learning.
Monday
26th http://www.thelostthing.com/

February Mrs Bowler-Smith planned the whole scheme for us which will end up with an extended narrative
retelling the story, with a different writing skill focus each day. There are links that have been made
with art and No Outsiders which are also very important to us at BJS.

Join BJS on Great to have visitors in School on Tuesday sharing the important message, again, about anti bullying
facebook and and in particular cyber bullying. See later on in the bulletin the article written by Miss Lewis about
Tweet Town. Children were very excited by the performance. Thanks to all those who contributed
twitter : to the cost of having the theatre company in school.

www.facebook.co It was also great to have the opportunity to share our school with Oftsed yesterday. We had a
m/BiltonCofEJNR really knowledgeable and pleasant HMI. He was very approachable and it was an actual joy to have
him in school. It will take approximately 20 working days for our report/letter to be published and
@BiltonCofEJNR until then I cannot comment on the content. I would like to say a big thank you to all parents, pupils
and staff who completed surveys of their views. It gave the Inspector a real feel of the community.
Thank you. If you haven’t seen the results on Parent View then take a look :-)

Things to look forward to are Spring Fever in the first week back after the holidays. A letter with
more information will be with you and accompanying it will be a Home Diary to enable you to talk
about the content of each lesson with your children. Diaries will also be available through the website
as some year groups will be dipping into other content. This especially applies to Yr 5 and 6.

Have a really great Half Term, I know I will :-)

Big Battery Hunt

Well done to all those that have brought batteries into school to be recycled. We have
managed to fill one container already! Please continue to collect batteries and send them
into Mrs. Thompson until the end of March.

Thank you

Punctuality

What a brilliant week for time keeping this week!
Sycamore House were awarded the Time Keeper's Award with only 3 late marks, whilst
Oak House and Chestnut were just behind with 4 each. (All the late arrivals in Chestnut
were from 6KC.)
This week the following classes recorded 0 late marks: 3ED, 3SV, 4DB, 5JE, 5JB and
6CC. This is a great improvement...thank you!
Have a lovely rest over half term and we look forward to seeing everyone back in
school, on time, on Monday 26th February 2018.

Tweet Town On Tuesday, the children were entertained by the characters of Tweet Town, a
Performance performance focusing on anti-bullying and cyber bullying. With foot tapping music,
exciting animations, intricate storytelling and great audience participation, the children
were transported into the online world of Tweet Town, where they learnt about what
bullying is, the different forms it can take, and what they should do if they think it is
happening to them. The children were left educated and motivated to tackle bullying in all
its forms and it also highlighted to them how to avoid becoming a bully themselves. Please
do ask your child, how they felt about the performance and the messages they took away
from it?
