Pobble 365 (1)

Pobble 365 (1)

1. Pretend to be the bird. What can you see? Describe the scene around you. Remember to use
all your senses as a bird.

2. Design your own bird or scene and have a go at writing a description making sure to use plenty
of powerful adjectives and including some adverbials of time, place and how to challenge
yourself.

1. Pretend to be a news reporter who has just come across this dinosaur. How would you be
feeling and what would you tell other people. Challenge yourself by making your own
newspaper report with pictures and headings.

1. If you were invisible what would you do? Write a letter to someone in your family explaining
what it’s like to be invisible and what you get up to each day when no one else can see you.

2. Question time! Who is ‘he’? What has happened to him? When did it happen? What caused
him to finally realise what happened? How will he find help? Why is he wearing gloves? What
will he do next?

1. Sentence challenge! Verbs are action/doing words. Can you identify all the verbs I have used below? Can
you replace them with more interesting verbs? “Elsa walked bravely across the floor. Light came down from
the windows. She looked back over her shoulder to see if anyone was there.”

2. Design a magic place and write a story about a character who lives there, is it an enchanted forest with a
princess, or an eerie wood with an ogre, a space planet with an astronaut or a unicorn world. Challenge
yourself to write 3 paragraphs - explain how your character gets to this world, what it looks like in this
magical place and what your character does there.

1. Story starter! “The young pup peered down into the icy water below with a growing feeling of trepidation.
Only a few days old, she had learnt so much already from watching her mother, but this challenge was her
greatest so far.” How would it feel to be submerged? What would she find lurking underneath the surface?
How would ever she get back onto dry land?

2. Art: pretend you have just dived under the water, what would you see?

newspaper report, play script or description about the picture.

2. Make sure you use interesting adjectives, powerful verbs, adverbs (-ly words) and full stop
and capital letters.

3. Can you challenge yourself to include some speech (remember your inverted comma’s “…”) or
exclamation marks and question marks?

4. For a bit of arty fun, why don’t you try drawing or painting your own version of the picture
too!
