Charles Evans Born in West Yorkshire, Charles
had the privilege of spending his childhood
playing in the woods and rivers around his
family farm. Unlike most children he aspired
to be like Turner and Flint rather than Batman.
Drawing from a young age led him to attend
Lincoln College of art in his late teens, this is
where he found his love of Watercolours. ‘Art
has been a passion since my childhood, I feel I
have been very privileged to be successful
within the industry and share it with others’
After a long career in catering, Charles was
commissioned by the National Coal Board to
paint a series of paintings of the pits and
villages. Then he was commissioned to create
the moorland scene for Emmerdale-it was this
that led to a successful TV series. He now lives
in Northumberland and hosts painting
workshops.
