Cultural Prac ces

1. Avoid late plan ng of Maize
2.Deep ploughing of soil to expose pupae
3.Remove the weeds effec vely, as pests can survive on weeds as

alterna ve hosts. To remove weeds use SEMPRA (for Cyperus
rotundus) along with systemic herbicide.
4.Install 4-5 Pheromone traps per acre
5.Visit field regularly and look out for eggs masses, larvae, damage
symptoms as windowing and holes
6.Destroy egg-masses and larvae by hand-picking and squashing

Precau ons : Keep in Mind

Ÿ If infesta on is found even a er two successive Largo applica ons, spray Cover (Lq.) or EM-1 at

cri cal stages.

Ÿ Spray at early development stage of pest (At 5-10 % plant infesta on).

Ÿ Spray should be directed towards whorl area for thorough coverage with

recommended dose. Whorl

Ÿ Use 200 Liters of water volume per acre for effec ve control.
