VIETNAM a. hartrodt Korea exploring potential connections in Ho Chi Minh
From left to right, Ms. Lan, Ms. Ngoc, Mrs. Phuong, Mr. Hoang and Mr. Jay
Last June 2016, Mr. Byun (Managing Director) from a. hartrodt Korea, visited Vietnam for the first time. The visit
was together with Mr. Jay (Sales executive), who just recently visited Vietnam early this year. The primary objective
was to explore the potential Korean companies in and around Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi for a better relationship
and to discuss on an upcoming potential project with JSI VINA CORPORATION.
Some facts about the Korea / Vietnam connections.
The Korea-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (FTA) went into effect on December 20, 2015.
Vietnam, with a population of 90 million and a domestic market composed of young consumers, is Korea’s
third-largest export market. The Korea-Vietnam FTA will expand the level of product liberalization, open
the service market and improve the investment environments of both countries.
Vietnam has over 180.000 Korean citizen’s living in Vietnam registering over 3500 companies. With Vietnam’s
proactive trade openness and investment policies, the demand for importing equipment and raw and
subsidiary materials is on the rise. More Korean companies will be able to enter the Vietnamese market
and the export of intermediate goods including parts and materials will also increase.
Big companies such as Samsung, LG or Lotte (just to mention a few) expanded their business and invested in the
past few years.
As per above fact, a. hartrodt Korea and a. hartrodt Vietnam decided to collaborate deeper to develop the business
relationship between these two countries.

Hung King’s Temple Festival 2016
VIETNAM
Hung Kings Commemoration Day is one of the most important holidays in Vietnam. This major event honours
the Hung Kings. According to historical records and Vietnamese traditions, the Hung Kings were the founders of
Vietnam. Hung Kings Commemoration Day is oriented around the themes of filial piety, ancestor worship, and
patriotism. While this holiday is observed over the course of several days, the most important celebrations occur

that is centered around traditional Vietnamese culture and values.
History of Hung Kings Commemoration Day
The first Hung King reigned in the Red River Valley of Southeast Asia during the beginning of the Bronze Age.
Since Vietnam was founded this early in history, Hung Kings Commemoration Day has been celebrated in various
ways throughout Vietnam for many years. In 2007, Hung Kings Commemoration Day became an official holiday.
As a public holiday, many Vietnamese people can enjoy some time away from work to honour their nation’s history
with their friends and loved ones.
The first Hùng king was Kinh Dương Vương, who came to power in 2879 BC. He ruled an area covering what
is now North Vietnam and part of Southern China. The area was called Văn Lang and is regarded as the first
nation of the Vietnamese people. Dương Vương founded the Hồng Bàng Dynasty, whose descendants ruled
Vietnam until 258 BC.
