Until We Meet Again. . .
We think about you always,
We talk about you still.
You have never been forgotten,
And you never will.
We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you will remain.

My Life Story
I AM Jakie Ray Spencer!!
I made my entrance into this world on January 28, 1948, to Dorsey Spencer and Odessa Tignor Spencer. I was the
seventh child born to the lineage of my parents living in Acres Home. I was baptized at an early age at Second St.
Peter Baptist Church.
I lived life extraordinaire - went to George Washington Carver, Elementary through High School. I was drafted into the
Army on April 18, 1968, and headed to Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas for Basic Training. After Basic Training, I went to
Fort Ord, CA for advanced Infantry Training. Then after 30 days leave, I went to catch the plane to Vietnam, landing
at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in the republic of South Vietnam. I was assigned to the 199th Light Infantry
Brigade Company 5th and 12th fighting in the Mekong Delta. I was injured from so much fighting and received the
bronze star along with other medals. With GOD’S grace, I survived Vietnam and came back to the states being
discharged from the Army in 1971.
I opened a Real Estate Corporation, named “Magic Realty”. I branched out into Property Management and other real
estate investments, opening another corporation named “Spencer's Notions, Inc” I did a lot of philanthropic endeavors,
including giving out turkeys during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, and other works. I lived the best, wore the
best, stayed in the best and drove the best.
I have lived life to its fullest, having no regrets. Some of my favorite sayings were: “How are ya”, “Right back atcha”,
“Likewise” and “I'm Good!”. I loved my parents, especially my mother who is and was my “Heart” and example of
strength.
GOD saw fit to call my name on December 12, 2022: and I answered his call. I will miss you family, but this is not my
home!
I am predeceased by my parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, nieces, and nephews.
I am survived by my brother, Don Roy Spencer; Sisters, Fay Rene Spencer, and Denise
Spencer; nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
A special nephew, Alex Spencer, who was like a son to me. Thank you for carrying out my
wishes and standing by my side through the years.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many
rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go
and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
~ John 14:1-3
To Our Brother
To Our Brother,
To the brother that lived his life to the fullest. To a
brother that was just who he was. To a brother who
was caring and sharing in his own way. We will miss
you dearly and we’ll see you later.

Don’t Cry forMe
Don't cry for me, I will be okay.
Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay.
Don't cry for me, I'm where I belong.
I want you to be happy and try to stay strong.
Don't cry for me, It was just my time,
but I will see you someday on the other side.
Don't cry for me, I am not alone.
The angels are with me to welcome me home.
Don't cry for me, for I have no fear.
All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears.
Don't cry for me, this is not the end.
I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again.
