When You’re Here, You’re Home
Welcome to USFSP!
Welcome to USFSP!!!
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg.
We are excited to welcome you to paradise!
We hope that as you prepare for your arrival to the university you consider living in
on-campus housing. It has been proven that students who choose to live in campus
residence halls have a better connection to the campus and are more successful
academically. We at USFSP agree and hope that you will join us as a residential student
in our campus community.
Over the past five years, we have seen amazing growth on campus and in our
residential community. The desire to remain living on campus as an upperclassman has
more than tripled. This is true testimony to the increased engagement and support that
our students experience while living on campus.
We hope you find the materials enclosed valuable and look forward to seeing you in
the Fall!!

Living Learning Communities
What is a Living Learning Community?
Living Learning Communities, known as LLCs, are residential communities with a special emphasis on an
academic major or an area of interest.
The Environment
A community living green for a better tomorrow
In the classroom, the lab, on campus and beyond the Living Green Living-
Learning Community provides a multidisciplinary introduction to environmental
science, policy and sustainability. The linked courses focus on an overall theme
of sustainability and environmental science. As a cohort, members of this
community will learn and live together, taking courses that use different
modalities (lecture, lab, online) and leveraging opportunities for civic and
community engagement in St. Petersburg.

Living Learning Communities
LEAD
Knowledge you’ll use. A community you’ll love.
This Leadership Living-Learning Community is an interactive community in which students live,
study, and have fun together. The community helps incoming freshman make friends, build
connections with faculty and staff, improve academic performance, develop personal leadership
skills, and increase workplace competencies. The LLC is grounded in USFSP’s Leadership Studies
minor. Students in the LLC share classes and participate in growth events outside of the
classroom.

BIOLIFE
Bringing Biology to life outside the classrooms.
The Biology Living-Learning Community, known as BioLife, offers residents the
opportunity to live and learn together about the interdisciplinary nature of biology,
work with biology professors on research projects, participate in civic engagement
activities with a biology focus and explore potential career opportunities.

Are there laundry services on campus?
S Yes! Each building is equipped with washers and dryers. The machines take quarters, however you can put Bull
Bucks onto your University ID card to use for laundry as well!
FAQ Are the rooms furnished? Or do I have to bring my own furniture?
The rooms are fully furnished! In the University Student Center, the rooms come equipped with a twin XL bed and mattress,

nished with a couch, lounge chair, table and chairs, and storage cube/TV stand. Extra storage or furniture may be used by the student.
What safety measures does USFSP have on campus?
Here at USFSP, we have a 24-hour police department located on-campus. You will see blue lights around campus. In the case of
emergency, a button on the blue light pole can be pushed for a direct connection to the University Police Department dispatch. All
residential halls are locked 24 hours a day. Each student has a University ID card which grants them access to their assigned building.
After hours, there is an RA on-duty that does rounds in the building and can be called in the event of a conflict or emergency.
Can I receive packages and mail?
Yes! Please ensure that the student’s full legal name is on the postage. When packages are received by USFSP, an email will be sent out
notifying the recipient. Mail will be distributed in the resident’s assigned mailbox. Packages and mail can be sent to the University Student
