EY Curriculum Outline - Term 2 - October 2020

At Elderbank Early Years we are learning…

In Term 2 your child will continue to work on their personalised targets set by
their keyworker through a range of play experience both indoors and
outdo§o§r§sT.HeThey will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range
of learning experiences from across the curriculum within the playroom and
during outdoor learning within the nursery garden and woodland area. Please
find below some of the skills we will be developing through our play.

Please find information below about some of the learning opportunities in Term
1. In the Early Years we will:
* Be learning to develop independence when putting on our coats and shoes.
* Learn to identify and express core feelings – happy, sad, angry etc.
*Follow instructions to compete a task.

To develop our literacy skills we will be:
*Listening to and identifying sounds in our environment.
*Experimenting with mark making and emergent writing techniques using a
variety of materials.
*Listening to a story with interest and talking about our likes/dislikes about it.

To develop our numeracy skills we will:
*Touch and count out objects using the 1:1 correspondence technique.
*Use mathematical language during our play experiences – bigger, smaller,
heavy, light, long, short etc.
*Recognise numerals in our environment.

We will continue to share photographs of your child participating in a range of
learning experiences on Seesaw. Please remember that all children are unique
and develop at their own pace. ☺
