Elderbank Early Years Newsletter
October 2021
Dear Parent/Carers,
It is hard to believe we are approaching the end of the first term
already, it has been a wonderful term full of fun and learning. The
early years team have been delighted with how well the children
have all adapted and settled, we are so very proud of them and are
delighted with each of their progress during this term.
Hallowe’en is coming……
We are really looking forward to our annual Hallowe’en party at
Early Years. We will have lots of spooky activities, traditional
games and fun party games planned! The party will be on Friday
29th October during the usual session times and the children are
welcome to dress up in a costume (the EY team love to dress up!)
The children will have the opportunity to have their photograph
taken by the Tempest school photographer on Tuesday 19th or
Wednesday 20th October. All children can have an individual
photograph taken and a family photograph if they have siblings that
attend Elderbank.
Please find information and contact details below for North
Ayrshire Speech and Language Service which provides
parent/carers with the opportunity to chat with a Speech and
Language therapist via the phone or virtual drop in sessions. During
these discussions you can raise any concerns you may have linked to
your child’s communication development. This is the quickest way
to access support and if required your child will be added to the
waiting list to be allocated a Speech and Language Therapist. You
are welcome to discuss any concerns with your child’s keyworker or
the identified ‘Communication Champions’ at Elderbank EY who are
Mrs Carruthers and Miss Macnamara, we are more than happy to
help and provide support.
Friday 8th October – Early Years closes for October break
Monday 18th October – Early Years reopens
Tuesday 19th/Wednesday 20th October – Tempest photographer
Friday 29th October – EY Hallowe’en Party
Many thanks for your continued support, please remember the EY

would like to speak to a member of the team then please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Mrs Carruthers,
