‘I can recognise similarities and differences in
myself and others’

This task can help build your child’s self- awareness
and recognise their own skills and talents and how

they can be different from others.

Ask your child to draw a picture of themselves and a
picture of a friend or family member then ask them to

say 3 things they do/see that are the same and 3
differences.

Look at photographs or people on the television and
discuss differences and similarities. Focus upon the

positive aspects that we are all unique and special
with our own characteristcs.
