I AM SOPROUD OOURSTUDENTPrincipal , Dwight Eisenhower High SchCamilla GarciaThere is no doubt that this has been a tough year. I don’t want tosensationalize, but I don’t want to sugarcoat either. We have lost students to violence, and there have been other, quieter types of destruction in this school. But you have all shown up and showed out, academically and foryour community. This is what it means to be a citizen here inCedarwood, and you have done exceptionally well.Congratulations not only to the graduating seniors, but to you ALL.

Sports were even more importantthis year — not because our kidsneeded to win every game, butbecause physical and mentalexercise (yes, chess is a sport too!)and a common goal taught themvaluable lessons about how to keepmoving forward despite the tragiccircumstances we often foundourselves in.Our sports teams taught studentsthe value of teamwork, being agracious winner/loser, and thehealth benefits of regular exercise. We are so proud of our studentathletes!SPORTEAMS

CLUBS A group of students works posters for LGBTQ+ Pride WI’m so grateful for this group. In my old school, weweren’t allowed to have one because people thoughtbeing trans and gay was against “family values.” WhenI came here, I was welcomed for the first time... andMrs. Green helped me come out as trans to my parents, too.THE RAINBOW ALLIANCE CONTINUED TO BE ONE OFTHE MOST ACTIVE AND SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITIESON CAMPUS THIS YEAR. WHETHER STUDENTSCAME TO LEARN, TO FIND CONNECTION, OR SIMPLYTO BE AROUND OTHERS WHO “GET IT,” THE CLUBPROVIDED A SAFE AND WELCOMING PLACE FOREVERYONE.MEMBERS ORGANIZED SCHOOL-WIDE EVENTS FORPRIDE MONTH, CREATED RESOURCES FORSTUDENTS QUESTIONING THEIR IDENTITIES, ANDCOLLABORATED WITH THE COUNSELINGDEPARTMENT TO PROMOTE INCLUSION ANDMENTAL WELL-BEING.MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE RAINBOW ALLIANCESHOWED OUR SCHOOL WHAT IT MEANS TO STANDUP FOR ONE ANOTHER — TO LISTEN, TO SUPPORT,AND TO CELEBRATE EACH PERSON FOR EXACTLYWHO THEY ARE.Mrs. Green offers advice to student.

The Eisenhower Academies give students the chance to explore potential career pathsbeginning in 9th grade. Each semester, students select a specialized elective—from medicine tolaw, technology to design—and gain hands-on experience in fields they may pursue aftergraduation.By the end of sophomore year, students commit to an academy and prepare for a unique junioryear internship with local professionals. Whether shadowing doctors, coding robotics, designing graphics for school events, or presenting cases in Mock Trial, Academy studentslearn new skills, gain confidence, and discover their passions. We are proud of all the ways our students continue to learn, grow, and shape their futures. Our students have unique opportunitiesto design their futures with careeroriented electives.
