Roller Derby Q & A
Why isn’t the track banked? We play what’s called Flat Track
Roller Derby, so the track is flat. This helps reduce the amount of
injuries and doesn’t take as long of a learning period to skate on.
Why do players keep leaving the track in the middle of a
play? These players have been called for a penalty and must
serve out their time in the penalty box before returning to the
game.
Do the teams hate each other? NO! In fact, once we’re off
the track we throw a heck of an after party where we all hang
out and have a good time. Many players on opposite teams are
good friends off the track.

Fun Fear (Sioux Falls. SD)
SporkHer (La Crosse, WI)

G.I. Skooledya (Duluth)
Rollz 4 Damage (SCAR)
Don’t have track-side tickets, but want to
come down on the floor?
That’s OK! Come on down and check out the merch
tables and half-time show. If you’re 21+ you can grab a
beer, too!
Charity Spotlight
Thanks to our emergency response team helping to
keep us safe tonight!
There are no fake hits or theatrics here. Everything you see on
the court is 100% real, and we sometimes do get hurt. Our
Refs keep us in line and make sure we are all following the
rules. This is for our own safety and to keep the game fair. For
more info on penalties, check out the “That’s a no-no” page.
