MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM DEPARTMENT (IMS656) ATIRAH BINTI MOHAMMAD AZMAN Her love of sleep and eating made losing weight difficult, even though it was one of the year's resolutions. But it is okay because other people often say, 'you are not fat and your body size fits you, so it is okay if you do not exercise,' I took that as a compliment. MEMBERS PROFILE NURIZA FAZIRA BINTI ELMAN Allow me to introduce Fazie, a student whose thirst for knowledge knows no bounds. With an insatiable curiosity and a need for knowledge, Fazie delves deeply into every subject they encounter, meticulously unraveling its complexities. But don't let Fazie's hardworking attitude fool you; they tend to get distracted by minor things, often staring into space for hours trying to remember what they were doing! NURUL FARISAH BINTI HAMIZAN I'm NURUL FARISAH, a dedicated student who strives to excel academically. While writing may not be my strongest suit, I approach it with determination and a willingness to improve. While writing may not be my primary focus, I understand its value in conveying ideas and thoughts. I appreciate the opportunity to express myself through written communication.

This e-book highlighted six Malaysian organizations: PTM UM, MOF, GAMUDA, Sarawak Energy (SESCO), Sime Darby and KTMB. Numerous facets of the organizations and their ISD are covered in the study, including business operations, goods and services, organizational structure and departments, the organizational structure of the IT/IS Department, and critical roles within the IT/IS Department. The study identifies six Malaysian organizations, including two public/government organizations, two private businesses, and two GLCs (government-linked firms). Each organization's commercial endeavours, goods, and services are investigated and contrasted to determine how they differ and are similar. Each organization's departments and structure are also researched and examined for differences. The emphasis then changes to each organization's IT/IS Department, examining its structure and the duties carried out by each section. The structures of the IT/IS Departments are compared and analyzed. The study's last section examines the three key positions within each organization's IT/IS Department and their respective job descriptions and prerequisites. There is a comparison of these positions offered. Each topic's findings are presented in a thorough and appealing e-book style with 20 pages and were created using Canva. This e-book serves as a comprehensive resource, illuminating the varied ISD landscape in Malaysian organizations and providing information on their operational IT/IS Departments, organizational structures, and business processes. Malaysian organisations and government agencies have specialised departments that manage, build, and maintain information systems. Technology helps improve operational efficiency, enable data-driven decision-making, and promote Malaysia's digital transformation. The ISD designs, implements, and manages software applications, databases, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity measures. It works with other departments and stakeholders to optimise IT resources, data interchange, and organisational goals. Malaysia's ISD uses information technology to improve innovation, service delivery, and digital growth. The Malaysian Information Systems Department (ISD) e-book was created for numerous reasons. This extensive information explores the ISD's role in Malaysia's digital landscape. The e-book covers the organization's overview, business operations, products and services, organisational structure, department functions, IT/IS department structure and unit functions, positions, job descriptions, and department requirements. "Empowering Digital Transformation: The Information Systems Department (ISD) in Malaysia" Introduction

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTER UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA The Pusat Teknologi Maklumat (PTM), or Information Technology Center, at the University of Malaya (UM) in Malaysia is a vital department that serves as the technological backbone of the university. PTM is dedicated to managing and providing information technology services and support to the university community, including students, faculty, and staff. After the Computer Centre at UM was created in 1965, the university began providing access to computers and related services. The school therefore established itself as an early adopter of computing in Malaysia. The Computer Centre's focus shifted to encompass IT and CS instruction and research in December 1969. The Computer Centre Board consisted of the Vice Chancellor (as Chairman), the Director of the Computer Centre (as Secretary), and a representative from each academic unit within the university. MINISTRY OF FINANCE (MOF) The Ministry of Finance (Malay: Kementerian Kewangan), abbreviated MOF, is a Malaysian government ministry in charge of government spending and income generation. This ministry is responsible for formulating economic policies and drafting the federal budget of Malaysia. Financial legislation and regulation are also the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance. Every year in October, Malaysia's Minister of Finance presents the country's proposed budget to Parliament The government's finances are managed by the Minister of Finance. Economic policy is overseen by the Minister; the Minister has direct authority over fiscal policy, while the politically neutral Central Bank of Malaysia (whose governor is appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong) is responsible for monetary policy.
