HOWEVER, FACULTY ENCOUNTERED CHALLENGES IN FACILITATING CLASSROOM TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITIES WHEN INSTRUCTION WAS DELIVERED VIRTUALLY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. AN OPEN CHALLENGE FOR RESEARCHERS IS TO DEVELOP A DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF THE TEACHER EXPERIENCE IN CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT DURING THE VIRTUAL DELIVERY OF TEACHING-LEARNING MODALITIES. THIS PAPER REPORTS ON THE VIEWS OF TEACHERS ON THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES ENCOUNTERED IN VIRTUAL EDUCATION. THE STUDY USED A MIXED METHOD APPROACH WHICH INVOLVED 42 GENERAL CONTENT TEACHERS. TEACHERS RATED THEIR LEVEL OF AGREEMENT TO A SELF-EFFICACY QUESTIONNAIRE AND SHARED THEIR VIEWS THROUGH REFLECTION ESSAYS THAT WERE WRITTEN AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER. RESULTS SHOWED THAT TEACHERS AGREED WITH THE SELF-EFFICACY STATEMENTS. EXAMINING THE REFLECTION ESSAYS MORE DEEPLY, FOUR (4) MAJOR THEMES WERE REVEALED AS THEY CENTERED AROUND CHALLENGES IN THE USE OF VARIED LEARNING SOFTWARE AS A LEARNING TOOL; IN THE AVAILABILITY OF THE INTERNET; IN COGNITIVE ENGAGEMENT; AND IN SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT TOWARDS OTHERS. IT ALSO PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE LEARNING TOOLS THEY USE. THE USE OF DIFFERENT PLATFORMS INITIALLY POSED A CHALLENGE TO TEACHERS, BUT THEY OVERCAME IT AFTER A SERIES OF TRAINING AND PRACTICE. FURTHERMORE, THE USE OF DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES AND SOFTWARE PROVIDED A WINDOW FOR THEIR NEW LEARNING AND AN AVENUE FOR INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY.
