WORK EXPERIENCE
DESIGNER at Arcadia Home Interiors, Fakenham, Norfolk (Nov 2018 - May 2020)
My role at Arcadia has given me invaluable design industry experience; with the opportunity to work for clients on luxury projects ranging from kitchens
and bathrooms to designing bespoke furniture, wardrobes and interior spaces. Whilst focusing largely on these areas, I was also involved in further
elements, advising on finishes, colour schemes and lighting etc. This role allowed me to take on a great deal of responsibility, managing my projects
from initial briefing, through to specifying and ordering product and preparing for installs. I have gained a wealth of product knowledge from working
with a vast variety of brands, as well as skills across a range of software. Additionally, my communication skills have strengthened through building
relationships with clients whilst presenting my ideas to them and communicating quickly and effectively with other professionals, including architects,
quantity surveyors and tradesmen. Overseeing my projects has improved my understanding of working to budgets, efficient diary management and
maintaining an up to date record of work, including sales figures and communicating this well within a team. During my time at Arcadia, I worked with
a high-end property developer, happily taking the lead on designing multiple kitchens and bathrooms for four new builds in Norfolk, as well as specifying
colour schemes, wall and floor finishes throughout the properties. This was a long term project requiring extreme organisation, thoughtful design skills,
detailed site surveys and technical knowledge.
KITCHEN & BATHROOM ADVISOR at Wickes Kitchen & Bathroom Showroom, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire (Jul 2017 - Oct 2018)
At this role, I absorbed a wealth of information regarding the design process and requirements for a functional design. Working in a fast-paced retail
environment, I gained experience of meeting targets and generating leads by working with and greeting clients, uncovering their brief and guiding them
through design choices. This position also developed my customer service and admin skills, by managing appointments and enquiries.
INTERESTS
Throughout my life, I have always been an outgoing, active and social individual. I enjoy creative tasks such as sketching, painting and developing my design
skills. My innovative personality and creative interests ultimately led to studying interior design as I grew increasingly interested in the field.
