Lost in the Woods

It was a wonderful day for a jog
with my friends in the Greenway
Forest. It was warm but not cold,
just warm in the low sixties. The
Greenway Forest was a perfect
name. In the forest, the grass was
green, the trees were all green and
calm. The sky of the Greenway
Forest was blue as the Pacific
Ocean and smelled like fresh rain.

After a few minutes of my jog, one
of my friends and I got lost from the
group. I had no clue where I was. The
Greenway forest is miles and miles
wide and it was starting to get dark.
We had no clue how to get out.

Then I heard a rustle in the
bushes. Then I saw It was a bunny.
Oh, so it is. Wait then is that rustling
behind me. Another bunny? Oh no no
no no no no it is not a bunny it is a
mountain lion.

Okay, now don’t run and don't
scream just look bigger and be quiet.
Wait that's not right you want to be
small and loud that's it Or isn't it. I
got it now Be loud and large. Walk
away slowly.

We got away from the mountain
lion it started to chase the bunny ok
now we need to run and find the
group they could be lost to. Opps I
ran into a tree that only hurt a little
bit. There is 1 problem the forest is
huge there is no way we could find
them.

Then I remembered my backpack
has glow sticks. I can wave them
around and find them.

After about 10 minutes of
running and running, we found
them well not all of them. We are
missing one. We need to find her.
She is in this huge forest in the
dark cold. The temperature went
down over 30 degrees.

We needed to get home. I had
my walkie talkie and we heard the
buzzing of it. We followed my
voice from the walkie-talkie. We
found the walkie-talkie but no girl
and the mountain lion jumped out
of the dark. We all were thinking a
mountain lion ate her.

But then when all hope was lost
she showed up out of the dark
riding a mountain lion that was the
last time we stepped foot into the
Greenway Forest. And no I didn't
run into more trees. When we got
home we asked her how did you
end up riding a mountain lion.

she said.”

“well when I got lost I was scared
and cold and I saw something and
it looked warm and cuddly so I
snuggled up against it and then I
heard your voices so I jumped on
the mountain lion and started
running.”

“were you scared of the
mountain lion,” I asked

“No” she said, “it was really not
that scary.”

I don’t know if I really believe
her that she wasn’t scared at all
I would have been terrified. I just
can’t stop thinking about how
she ended up on the mountain
lion. To be honest I secretly
think she takes animal speaking
lessons.
