PREFACE

Praise and gratitude we pray to the presence of Allah SWT his gift so that
we can carry out Field Work Practices (PKL) and completing the PKL results
report can run in accordance with the planned program. Field Work Practice
Report compiled as one of the requirements to take the School Final Exam State
Vocational Intermediate Nusawungu,Engineering Skills Study Program
Automotive Academic Year 2021/2022.We convey our deepest gratitude and
gratitude to the people who are instrumental in this life, namely Father and
Mother beloved who has provided material and spiritual provisions for the sake of
our progress. Only love and thanks can we offer. May we all get His blessing and
guidance.

SUMMARY

This work practice report is intended to find out about the identification of the
starter system on the Kijang Innova/LGX. This work practice was carried out at
the Restu Baru Kroya workshop, from January 31 to July 15, 2022.

Planetary Type Motor Starter Components on the Toyota Kijang more complete
includes, among others: Magnetic Switch, Field Coil, Brush Holder, Armature,
Starter Clutch, Planetary Gear.

Machine requires an automatic electrical system to revive and keep it alive.
Battery included main component in the electrical system. Batteries are used to
supply electricity to other electrical components, a charging system that burns
materials fuel-air that is sucked into the cylinder, and other electrical equipment.

Machine needs a system starter to rotate the crankshaft and then move the
pistons so the engine can run. Of the several ways that exist, generally cars using
an electric motor combined with a magnetic switch which shifts the rotating
pinion gear to the paired ring gear surrounds the flywheel which is bolted to the
crankshaft.

Starter motor must be able to produce a large moment from a small power
available on the battery. Another thing to note is that the motor the starter should
be as small as possible. For this reason, DC series motors (direct current) are
generally used.

How to overcome if there is a problem with the Toyota Kijang starter motor:
1. If the pinion gear does not move out and the motor does not rotate, the
terminal voltage battery is too low and check the battery terminals for
scale.
2. Pinion gear moves out but the starter motor does not rotate, battery
voltage is too loor the motor torque is too small.

3. The pinion gear moves in and out repeatedly, check for dirt on the

battery terminals and check the wiring components between battery
with terminal 50.
