KID IN DALLAS...

In March, Kellogg & Kimsey, Inc., announced the company was branching into the Dallas,
Texas area to capitalize on one of the thriving construction markets in the U.S. The Urban Land
Institute (ULI) list for Top Ten Cities in Emerging Trends in Real Estate 2017, ranked Dallas in 2nd
place behind Austin, Texas and a head of 5 California cities. Dallas is a modern metropolis in
north Texas and a commercial and cultural hub of the region with 1.3 million people.

A new year brings new growth and new faces - please welcome...
Shane Harvey - Principal in Charge, Texas
Shane is a seasoned architect and construction professional who brings 32 years’ experience
to the Kellogg & Kimsey, Inc team. He has worked on all sides of the coin from architectural
design, owner and development to construction management.
His career includes internationally recognized brands such as Outback Steakhouse, J. Crew,
Boston Market, New York & Co, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart and Cici’s
Pizza. Originally from Dallas, Shane grew up in Denver, Colorado but has spent the last 33 in his
home town and calls both places “home”.
Shane will be celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with his lovely wife in June and they
have four amazing children 4 kids, plus a cat and a dog (plus all the kid’s pet’s who love for
them to pet sit when they go out of town). When he’s not being the dog whisperer, you’ll find
him on the golf course in the summer and spending as much time watching ANYTHING and
EVERYTHING to do with baseball. In the winter, you’ll catch him on the ski slopes or catching
a flick with his family if he’s not watching baseball highlights at his favorite corner pub with
friends.

7 Lisa Nelson - Project Administrator|Hampton Inn & Suites, Atlanta
Lisa has studied Information Technology/Network Administration and Paralegal Studies,
NEW in addition to a Stenography & Business Administration Certification. She has quite the
computer skills and is a Microsoft Certified Professional, and knows CompTIA A+, Server
HIRES 2003 (MSCE/MCSA) Network+, CCNA, Linux, and Security+ to name a few. She has been
working as an Administrative Assistant since 2000 with E.R. Mitchell, McKenney’s Inc., Rosser
IN 2017 International, TakentWrx/AMEC Foster Wheeler and Davis-Burns Group/Batchelor & Kimball
before joining the Buckhead team in Hotlanta with Greg, Bruce and Brian.

Jim Reyes - Project Superintendent|The Salvador, St. Petersburg, Florida
Jim brings 30 years experience in both the private commercial and military construction
sector to the team on the Salvador. He has been awarded a special commendation
by the Department of Navy for successful project completions, being on time and under
budget. Some projects you might know include The One in St. Petersburg; Renovations
on the $420Mil Miami Dolphins project and the $340Mil Ft. Lauderdale South West Airlines
Airport Terminal in addition to numerous military housing and manufacturing facilities
including projects for the Army Corps of Engineer, Naval Weapons Stations and Homeland
Security. In addition he is a US Military-82d Airborne Division/Rank Sergeant with honorable
discharge with multiple distinguished awards.

Tara McKinney, EI, - Project Engineer|Embassy Suites, Sarasota, Florida
Tara has worked in the construction and engineering fields since 2007 and has joined
the team at Embassy Suites. Her previous background includes working on the $105Mil
Mercantil Block Luxury Apartments and the $550Mil Dallas Love Field Modernization
Program in Dallas; A $110Mil LEED Silver Engineering Research Complex for the University
of Texas at Arlington. Tara graduated Cum Laude with a B.S.> in Architectural Engineering
with an emphasis in Materials and Construction Management in 2008 from the Missouri
University of Science & Technology. She has an interest in boating, hiking, fitness, yoga,
interior design and world affairs.

Ray Albury - Project Engineer|Hyatt Place, Jacksonville, Florida
Ray is an experienced and respected individual in construction operations, project
management and engineering and estimating in residential, commercial and public
projects. His previous experience includes working as the Facility Manager for CSX of the
North Region Terminals in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the Project Engineer on the $80Mil
Port of Miami project before propelling his career as a Quality Analyst for an Estimate Review
Team. He has a Master of Science in Construction Management for Florida International
University in Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering for Florida A&M
University in Tallahassee, FL.

Cori Perry - Project Administrator|Hyatt Place, Jacksonville, Florida
Cori joins us in sunny Jacksonville after living in the Illinois area for a number of years her
entire life and braving through those cold winters! She has worked in office management
for a number of construction firms handling project related administrative duties,
marketing and advertising. Cori has a well-rounded background in customer service,
training and assisting new hires, compliance, sales support, data entry, file management
and skilled in developing various databases, spreadsheets and seminar coordination. She
has an undergraduate Studies in English from the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Cori is
married with two girls and loves watching her daughter’s compete in sports (Her oldest
in competitive cheer leading and her youngest in karate), and enjoys cooking, reading,
going to the beach. Her Dad was a GC and she has grown up in construction her whole
life (Her Dad had Cori up on the roof working since the age of 5).

Robbie Howard - Project Engineer Internship|Home 2 Suites, Sarasota, Florida
Robbie was born and raised in Sarasota where his family has lived for 7 generations. He
attended Cardinal Mooney High School and is currently enrolled in the McWhorter School
of Building Science at Auburn University. Robbie is part of our internship program and is
working as the Project Engineer on the Home2 Suites project in Sarasota, Florida. He is
pursuing a degree in Building Construction and will graduate in the Fall of 2019. Growing
up in Sarasota he is always on the water!

THE PATRIOT CHALLENGE.... HOW DID WE DO?

The Patriotic Challenge ended July 4th and involved K&K employees improving their health on a daily basis.
Here is our how it worked:

THE CHALLENGE

∙ Get at least 7 hours of sleep, and drink at least 32 oz. of water during the day (1 point)
∙ Maintain a food diary – list everything you eat for the entire day (1 point)
∙ Eat at least three servings of fruits and/or vegetables (1 point)
∙ Choice of 1 mile walk/run/bike or ¼ mile swim or use a Fit-bit or tracker to accumulate at least 10,000
steps for the day. (1 point)
∙ Exercise 30 minutes (In addition to the walk/run/bike/swim option above) (1 point)
∙ Stretch 10 minutes (1 point)

THE REWARD

∙ 3rd Prize – 2 tickets to Cinebistro or a gift certificate for a massage ($100 value)

#1706 The Home 2 Suites is a 4-story wood frame hotel situated nearby the SRQ Airport
16205 S. Military Trail, Suite A on 2.5-acres in Sarasota, Florida. The 62,399 sq. ft. ground up project will have
Delray Beach, FL 33484 109-keys and is scheduled to open in late 2018. The trendy mid-rise design will
feature an outdoor swimming pool and the trademark Spin2 Cycle combined

This is K&K’s first hotel for the Hyatt Place brand and the 90,738 sq. ft. hotel
will feature 3,000 sq.ft. of flexible meeting space, a fitness center, an outdoor
pool with a deck overlooking the water for social and private events. Under
the Modern Essentials collection, the 5-story Hyatt Place will be located across
the street from the St. Johns Town Center at The Strand, a 45-acre mixed-use
development.

PROJECT UPDATES

Residence Inn #1517
The Residence Inn is a 197-key, 141,132
sq. ft. 5-story hotel in Orlando, Florida near
Universal Studios. The ground up block and
plank hotel is when complete will have
food+beverage, flexible meeting space,
fitness center, business center and outdoor
swimming pool with onsite surface parking.
This is our 2nd hotel for the Residence Inn

brand.

Hampton Inn & Suites #1601
Currently in construction, this ground up
7-story Hampton has 186-keys over a 1-level
basement parking garage on Piedmont
Road just north of Peachtree Road. The
104,000 sq. ft. hotel is post tension on the
first 2 floors, with cast in place concrete on
metal decking for floors and load bearing
metal studs for walls and broke ground in
September 2016. It will feature an outdoor
pool, food_+beverage, meeting space in
addition to a 24-hour sundry store. This is our

5th Hampton Inn project.

Embassy Suites ##1514
This is our first Embassy Suites brand hotel
project and the post tension, metal stud
infill exterior walls 18-story high rise is located

on a tight urban footprint in downtown
Sarasota. The 180-room hotel includes a

24-hour business center, 8,000 sq. ft. of
ballroom space and a full service restaurant

with views overlooking the bay. The hotel
features upgraded finishes, an elevated

pool amenities deck, fitness center and a
5-level 200-car parking garage.
