LESSONS

LEARNED

THE RESIDENCE INN BY MARRIOTT

Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida
The Residence Inn experienced issues with the water table level. The yellow
highlighted area above represents the hotel footprint with the red lined
areas as the dewatering “sock” system. The team hired a dewatering
consultant to evaluate the existing conditions and develop a plan. The
plan was approved with the design team and implemented and the
project is back on schedule.
Due to the existing high water table, K&K team followed up with
slab-on-grade moisture concerns with the design team and ownership
and will document this through the RFI process.
