My summer at
Gojek

May’18-Jul’18 / Bangalore

Internship at gojek is like a dream for me. This was the first time I am
working on a team of this scale (around 20+ designers and PM’s).
Spending my summer working alongside engineers, experience design-
ers, and product managers has really shaped my own experience as a
designer.

My work mainly consists of 3 projects:

- Driver Referral App
- Iconogtraphy
- Shuffle Cards

It was FUN.

Driver Referral App

15th June’18 - 31st July’18

Problem

Absence of a proper referral system in the company and No proper platform
for self on-boarding of drivers

Overview

Designed an application for driver referrals and driver on-boarding.
Include features like Self-onboarding flow, tracking your referrals, upload
your documents and incentive rewards for different type of referrals.

Goals

• To increase the percentage of self onboarded drivers to the point that it’ll
become the majority channel of new enrollments.

• To make a proper referral system in gojek, which can be applicable to any
service.

Approach

• Researched and analysed the proper flow of any referral system.
• Collaborated with Project Managers and operation team members for better
understanding of user goals and company requirements.
• Designed an elegant and simple design for better articulation of informations

Iconography

Whole summertime

Problem
Absence of uniformity in the icon styles used in all over the design system.

Overview

Improved the icon set in the identity system of Gojek, making visual gram-
mer more comprehensible & harmonious

Goals

• To bring the feel of consistency in a visual language which in itself can
represent the brand and can communicate clearly with the people.

Approach

• Redefined the design guidelines for the new icon styles ( Grids, icon style,
line weight, Clear spacings )
• Revamped all the old icons and designed some new icons according to
new guidelines and team requirements
• Properly structured and managed the master file of Iconography for Gojek
Design language system ( i.e. Asphalt )

Shuffle Cards

Final days of July’2018

Task

To Create the high fidelity interfaces of Shuffle cards for the upcoming version
of the app.

Overview

Designed the visuals of various shuffle cards for the products like GoFood
and GoLife

Goals

• To make more clean and elegant interfaces of these card using the new
design language of company.

Approach

• Iterate and designed the visuals of Offers cards, Merchant Carousel cards,
Re-order cards and social cards for GoFood
• Designed all the shuffle cards that are going to be used in GoLife
• Contributed in managing the master file of shuffle cards for the company
new DLS.

First taste of the
real world

Dec’17-Feb’18 / Bangalore

This was the first time I got to design for real and really understand
that
"How design works in this complicated corporate environment".

My work here mainly focused around the "Blackbuck Supply App" from
start of the month, watching users live recordings to find the flaws in
current app, whilst making all the wireframes for Book an order flow to
finally making iterations for the visuals of the Home screen and Proto-
typing them for better understanding of user interactions.

Overview

The problem we are facing is that our main users came from the age group
of around 30-60 yrs and it’s difficult for them to comprehend the whole
cluster of information just at once.

So our main goal was to design a solution which is both "easy to under-
stand" & " feels visually balanced"

Objective

1. To revamp the Order cards on the homepage for better articulation of the
information

2. To redesign the Order Booking Flow of the user
3. To redefined the overall visual language for the app

Approach

• Analysed the live recordings of users interacting with the application to
find the general flaws in the process
• Revamped the whole visual interface whilst setting up the new design
guidelines

Overview

It was a task given by the marketing team to design something to articu-
late the information about various offers to our users.
So we decided to design banners for each different offer and will show
them as a carousel view with top priority to grab proper attention.

Objective

To design the banners for offers like First order bonus, Referral bonus,
Repeat truck bonus, Repeat truck bonus and special bonus.

Designed everything in both languages HIndi and English.

Christmas’2017 - New year’2018

Overview

Designing an annual calendar for the company you’re working for is a fun
task to do. It was a random day around Christmas week when Viraj came to
me and said
"we have to ship an annual calendar for the company before this new year, so let’s
get on this right now"

And that’s how it started.

Exploring web-design at
Synup

Dec’18 - Jan’19 / Bangalore

In search of more exposure in the web-design field, as my major past
experience includes mainly B2C companies with mobile platform prod-
ucts. Result of this search, I ended up in SYNUP.

Talking about Synup
- First, it’s a B2B company with a goal to help users to manage and
optimize their local business content - across all the devices and
digital platforms for better business results.
- Second, they are currently redesigning their website
( Broader goal - whole revamping of the company design language).

Looks like a perfect opportunity for me to experience the work environ-
ment of a SAAS company as well as sharpening my web-design skills.
Voila!

It was NEW.

Synup Website Redesign

10th Dec’18 - 15th Jan’19

Task

To redesign the current website whilst setting up the new design language
for the company.

Overview

Joined up at the time of wireframing phase ( i.e. IA already been prepared).
So, the website was planned to be composed of various section templates,
sections based on company requirements and then in future anyone can
use these sections to build up a new product/feature/service page.

In short we have to design various section templates keeping in mind the
present as well as future requirements.

My work includes

• Analysing all the wireframes and then segmenting them into several section
types based on similarities of required visual elements and their purpose

• Creating the visual representation of all the elements in these section types
and then composing all the required pages according to the structured design
language
