Daylight Factor

According to MS 1525, 3.45 % of average daylight factor is at maximum of comfortable range. The illuminance of the office
using this strategy has reached recommended lux level during 12 p.m. which is around 300 to 400 lux. The vertical fin
painted in white could function as shading device and light shelves in the same time.

Indonesian Cultural Exchange
Center

year 2 first semester project / 2020-2021-1

The project is called for designing a Culture & Community Build-
ing by responding to the socio-cultural and physical contexts of a
selected site as well as to portray Malaysian National Architectural
Identity.
However, for workbase Dr. Doris, the theme for the communi-
ty building is called Indonesia Exchange Center. The building is
planned to be established beside UTM Eco Home and near the
foreign student office in order to promote interaction between lo-
cal student and Indonesian exchange students.
One of the criteria for the project is students are required to de-
sign a timber structure building where the timber structure should
occupy more than 50% of the overall building structure. There are
several fixed space for this project i.e. multipurpose hall, lobby,
offices, drop-off and other supporting spaces.
This project are mainly using the method of the combination of
sketchup and AutoCad. Due to it is the first time for mainstream
students using digital computing method to produce boards and
drawing, I struggle to adapt the new way.

Tropical Roof

The form of the roof symbolises the culture of a particular people where by identifying a special roof form will lead us to
realise which etchnics are we from. Thus a roof is the identity of a culture whereby a a culture can adapt on other culture to
produce new type of roof form. Therefore, the Toba Batak roof form is taken as inspiration and combine it with the concept
of teaching of the Hindu and Islamic culture. To give the roof functionality, the roof form is also modified so that it could
receive maximum of natural daylighting.

Cultural Roof Adaptation:

The ancient people divided the world into three levels through the
concept of Tribuwana, consisting of the upper (the heaven-world), the
middle where humans live and the lower (the world of death). Hous-
ing and buildings which are influenced by the Hindu philosophy al-
ways consist of three main layers. The first one is the vast layer which
describes the humans with all of their desires named Kamadatu. The
second one is called Rupadatu, located on top of the Kamadatu, which
shows a world where humans are shackled by secularity. The third lay-
er is named Arupadatu which describes the real consciousness which
is also shapeless.

Year 1 Untitled Works

year 1 final & first semester project / 2019-
2020-1 / 2019-2021-2

The project is all about designing a office for the Architect that is
chosen by the student. The office should be functional working
office and also as the learning hub and exhibition space thet suit
the client design design principle and philosophies.

The project also involve the student to consider about the envi-
ronmental responsive architecture factor so that a design that is
eco-friendly and sustainable design will be the final product of this
final project.

Moreover , the offices should also encouraging the social inter-
active space and provide conducive working and learning envi-
ronment so that the client and the imaginary users will have the
interaction with internal users and thus the external user of the
building too.

The required space for this project are drop off, lobby, reception
center, event space, office space, reading resources center con-
ference room, interaction rooms, discussion area, materials room,
filing storage, pantry, washrooms, surau, loading area and other
supporting building service.
