Warm Up

● Two full court laps around the gym
● Arm Stretches

○ Left arm across chest
○ Right arm across chest
○ Left arm behind head
○ Right arm behind head

● Leg Stretches

○ Feet apart- stretch to the right
○ Feet apart- stretch to the left
○ Feet apart- stretch to the middle

Tag-You’re It

Rules: One person will be chosen by the teacher to be the tagger. The tagger
will have to chase and tag a classmate. When the tagger tags a classmate,
the tagger will say, “Tag, you’re it”. The person tagged, will be it (new
tagger).

Objective: Avoid getting tagged.

Equipment: None

Skills: Running

Space: Half court

Time: 15 minutes

Knock Out

Rules: Everyone is in one line attempting to shoot the basketball into the
basket. If you make the basket, you go to the end of the line. If you miss the
shot, the next person has the chance to eliminate you by making the next
shot.

Objective: To be the last person standing.

Equipment: Basketball

Skills: Shooting a basketball

Space: Half court

Time: 15 minutes

Freeze Tag

Rules: Three players are chosen to chase their classmates (taggers). When a
classmate is tagged by a tagger, the tagged student must freeze. A
classmate that’s not a tagger can tag the frozen student to unfreeze them.
The student can begin running from the taggers again.

Objective: Avoid being tagged.

Equipment: None

Skills: Running

Space: Half court

Time: 15 minutes

Hula Hoop Toss

Rules: Throw the hula hoop so that the bean bag is inside the circle of the
hula hoop when the hula hoop lands.
Objective: Have the bean bag inside the circle of the hula hoop.
Equipment: Hula hoops and 3 bean bags
Skills: Tossing and aiming
Space: Half court
Time: 15 minutes

Dodgeball

Rules: The class will be divided in half. Several balls will be placed in the
center of the floor. When prompted the students will race to the balls and
try to grab a ball. The students without balls will have to dodge the balls
being thrown. When you are hit by a ball, you are out.

Objective: Avoid being hit with a ball.

Equipment: Dodgeballs

Skills: Speed/agility

Space: Half court

Time: 15 minutes

Simon Says

Rules: Follow the instructions that begin with, “Simon says”. If you follow
instructions that don’t begin with Simon says, you’re out.
Objective: Only do what Simon says to do.
Equipment: None
Skills: Listening
Space: Half court
Time: 15 minutes

Shark Attack

Rules: Two students will be chosen to be sharks and stand in the middle of
the court. The rest of the students will be swimmers and line up against the
wall. The teacher will yell “shark attack” and the swimmers will try to run to
the opposite wall without being caught by a shark. Swimmers caught by the
sharks are out.

Objective: Avoid being caught by a shark.

Equipment: None

Space: Half court Time: 15 minutes

Bean Bag Relay

Rules: The class is divided into two lines. The first person in each line will
place the beanbag on their head & quickly go to the opposite side of the court
and back without dropping the bag. The bag is passed to the next person in
line until everyone has gone.

Objective: Not to drop the beanbag.

Equipment: Beanbags

Skills: Running/balance

Space: Half court Time: 15 minutes

Flag Swipe

Rules: The class is divided into two groups. One group is given flags to wear.
The other group has to swipe the flags.
Objective: To swipe as many flags as possible.
Equipment: Flags
Skills: Running
Space: Half court
Time: 15 minutes

Musical Hula Hoops

Rules: Students are positioned around the hula hoops. When the music plays,
the students walk around the hoops. When the music stops, the students
must stand inside a hoop. The students left without a hoop, are out. Hoops will
be removed each time the music stops.

Objective: To be the last person in a hoop.

Equipment: Hula hoops

Skills: Listening/speed

Space: Half court Time: 15 minutes

Kick Ball

Rules: The class is divided into two teams. One team lines up on the wall. The
other team lines up across center court and rolls the ball to one person on the
wall. That person kicks the ball and tries to run to the opposite wall without
being tagged with the ball. If the kicker is tagged or their ball is caught, they
are out.

Objective: To get to the opposite wall.

Equipment: Kick ball

Skills: Running/eye-foot coordination

Space: Half court Time: 15 minutes

Cat and Mouse

Rules: Half the students are cats and the others are mice. The cats have to
catch a mouse. The cats that catch a mouse get to be mice on the next round
and they have to run from the cats.

Objective: To catch a mouse.

Equipment: None

Skills: Running/speed

Space: Half court

Time: 15 minutes
