INTRODUCTION
Finding aids are tools that assist users in locating information
within a record group, collection, or series of archival documents.
Finding aids are formal publications that assist a user in locating
information about a record group, collection, or series of archival
resources. In this project, our group will discuss the political
archives. The political archives that we choose are Abdul Aziz Bin
Ishak. He was a well-known Malaysian independence fighter,
politician, and journalist at one time. Abdul Aziz bin Ishak was
also a Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet of Tunku Abdul
Rahman Putra and an important figure in the fight for the Malays
special economic development in the agricultural sector in the
1950s.
CHAPTER 1 : BIOGRAPHY
BIOGRAPHY Abdul Aziz Ishak (1922-1999) or better known as Tok Jed
ABDUL AZIZ is the most controversial of the modern Malayan leaders.
He is journalist for Utusan Melayu, politician, colonial
civil servant and a Malayan brand of the modern
nationalist intellectual. He remains an enigma unlike his
brother Yusof who was well known both as a journalist
and the founder of Utusan Melayu and as the first
President of Singapore after the separation with Malaysia
in 1965. Between 1965-1966, he was an Internal Security
Act (ISA) prisoner during the Indonesian confrontation.
Aziz is the only member of the pre-war Kesatuan Melayu
Muda (KMM) to have served in the 1955 and post-
Merdeka Cabinets under Tunku Abdul Rahman. Between
1955 and 1963, he was the nation’s first agriculture
minister. He was an important figure in the struggle for
Malay economic development in the agricultural sector.
He resigned from the Cabinet due to irreconcilable
differences with the Tunku and other Cabinet colleagues.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, a finding aids assists researchers, especially our group, in
learning more about collections and locating resources in collections that
will be most useful to our research topic about Abdul Aziz Bin Ishak. As a
result, nothing is known about Abdul Aziz Ishak and his participation in the
war for independence. Perhaps a socialist had no place in a Cabinet that
pursued capitalist policies and was adamant about maintaining the
free market economy. He resigned all his positions and returned to being a
journalist. Nonetheless, his contributions to the fight for independence
cannot be overlooked.
