Q: Will all the sites mapped out be tackled at the same
time?
Because of the cost of interventions, we assess these
interventions based on priorities as directed by His
Excellency, Gov. Udom Emmanuel. We have chosen St
Luke's Hospital gully erosion site, Anua, and also on that
same alignment, we have Etim Umana and further
down to Udo Inwang. The costing for the permanent
ones have been done, designs for the permanent
intervention has been put in place and I'm happy to say
that World Bank has given “No Objection” to two of
these sites. In other words, given approval to those
designs and even the costing – BEME (the Bill of
Engineering Measurement and Evaluation) are also
approved. So what is left now is actual implementation.
Q: How soon is the implementation coming?
There is a procurement process that goes on in World
Bank. Procurement has to do with transparency of the
process of getting those that would supervise the work
