Narwhals

Swimming

Narwhals use their little fins and tail to swim. They can dive a mile and a half into
the water. Narwhals swim with their belly facing down. While swimming ,they can
attack their prey.



Diet

Narwhals are carnivores. They eat fish, shrimp, plankton,
and other sea creatures. Narwhals don’t eat plants.

Attacking

Narwhals attack to either impress female narwhals or to
protect their family. Narwhals attack prey to bring home
food. Narwhals have been known to attack boats .

● The narwhal tusk is the horn.
● They can sense things with their tusk.
● Their tusk can grow up to 10 feet long.

Pods

You can sometimes see a group of narwhals and maybe with
baby narwhals in a pod. A pod is a group of animals that stick
together. Being in a pod is a form of protection. Narwhals kill
the sea creature that tries to attack them while they are in pod
formation.
