MALAPASCUA & MOALBOAL
Diving in Malapascua is something absolutely unique, as this beautiful island is the only place in the world where you can see thresher sharks almost every day. The island has also become justly for diving Monad Shoal, where you can encounter manta rays, devil rays and hammerhead sharks. outcrop. Malapascua is also special in that it is in an area of ocean that has the highest concentration of biodiversity in the world. What this means is that there are many dive sites that offer equally beautiful and unique dives: the mandarin fishes that perform their mating dance every evening at sunset at the Lighthouse; the island of Gato, marine reserve and sanctuary for the sea snakes, famous for pygmy seahorses, whitetip sharks, nudibranchs and big cuttlefish; Lapus Lapus, where you see the frog fish, hiding among the colourful corals; Ka Osting, a muck dive that’s easy and fun, where you can go in search of the blue-ringed octopus; and the island of Calanggaman, which is an uninhabited tropical paradise on the surface but hides underwater walls rich in marine life.
Moalboal has a vast array of marine life, from the very tiny pygmy seahorse, to the elegant and sometimes eleusive thresher shark that can be spotted hunting the huge school of sardines that reside at Panagsama Wall. The sardine bait ball is a spectacle all by itself, with well over a million sardines making up the school. Pescador Island is just a ten-minute boat ride away, and this little uninhabited islet rises up out of the Tanon Straight creating a perfect place for marine life to flourish. Its huge walls drop down to 60m, with colourful soft corals and gorgonian sea fans clinging to the rocky face and all several species of tropical fish. On the west side of the islet you have ‘The Cathedral’ a huge cavern that has numerous large entry and exit points, and when looking back out of the cavern it has the eerie appearance of a skull.

TEPANEE BEACH RESORT
Tepanee Beach Resort stands on a small hill that rises up from their own private sandy beach. Isolated from the rest of the island, enjoy the tranquility and the breathtaking sunsets. The name Tepanee comes from the name of the Polynesian frangipani plant, a tropical tree that graces our gardens with fragrant flowers of various colours.
The resort has been designed using low impact on the environment philosophy. The construction materials are almost all local wood, bamboo, and stone. Both the cottages and standard room villa buildings are located in the centre of the resort surrounded by tropical gardens. The buildings are almost invisible from the sea, although they are facing, and the structure is completely surrounded by green tropical gardens.
Our preferred dive centre, Thresher Shark Divers, is based on Bounty Beach and is the only PADI 5 Star CDC dive centre on the island of Malapascua.

The chef is skilled in a wide range of international dishes and is equally comfortable making British pub favourites like bangers and mash or fish and chips, French cuisine, Chinese stir fries and Thai curries. And Oscar's has a very strict policy of serving only sustainable seafood. Not to be forgotten is Oscar's Pub Upstairs! The Pub is a British style bar, very well stocked with possibly the best selection of imported beers and liquors this side of Cebu City.

MAGIC ISLAND DIVE RESORT
Magic Island Dive Resort is located in the quiet southern part of the Moalboal peninsula. From the resort you overlook the mountains of Cebu Island. Nestled in between tropical gardens there are 10 bungalows all with private balconies.
The diving! It’s why we are here! Magic Island is primarily a scuba diving resort, of course all are welcome, but they mainly cater to divers or people who are interested in becoming divers.
The dive centre is located right on the sea front facing out towards the fantastic house reef, where you can dive any time, day or night. Inside the dive centre everyone is provided with their own individual post and crate, giving lots of space to hang or place all of your dive gear.
Outside there is lots of room to prepare your equipment, plan your dives or just sit in the sun and soak up some rays. Most of the time the tide is high enough that the boats can pull all the way up to the dive centre, so it just one step and you’re aboard.
