Please note: This is an EXTREME trip - ALL divers should be expert in the use of an SMB, possess and know their own dive computers, and be qualified to at least Advanced Open Water Diver with Deep Speciality levels due to the depth of the diving to be conducted. NITROX will be provided for dives that do not exceed the blend Maximum Operating Depth (MOD) and air will be used for dives that exceed this level - expect to be at 40+ metres depth on a regular basis. __________________________________________________________________________

MALDIVES - SOUTHERN ATOLLS
Widely regarded as one of the world's most fascinating scuba diving destinations with hundreds of unique diving sites for enthusiastic scuba divers to explore. There are so many dive sites that even divers who live here full-time never get to see all the underwater marvels of the Maldives.
From Male, a same day flight to Khoodhoo, the furthest South you can go, puts you on board your live-aboard for a week. Sun-rises and sun-sets are just breath-taking, and so is the diving! Big currents bring in the big animals, and the shark encounters are extreme! Expect to see Hammerhead, lemon, leopard, white and black tipped sharks and in big numbers too!
In the Maldives dives site with “kandu” in the name are channel dives. That means clear water and diving on the ocean edge with grey reef sharks, tuna, jack fish and sometimes dolphins and sail fish. In deep south some sites host a large population of green turtles especially Kooddo Kandu and Vilingili Kandu; while others have great coral gardens such as Kureddoo Kandu and Kondei Kandu.
Outside of the island of Genemanafushi there is a high probability of Hammerheads Sharks, diving in the blue along the oceanic reef. Further South of Huvadhoo, is the ultimate Maldivian dive destination, Fommulah. This atoll is only one island in the middle of the Indian Ocean but thanks to the oceanic current, there is a great chance to encounter tiger sharks and thresher sharks. It’s not uncommon to see oceanic mantas or whale sharks. On many nights powerful lights are used behind the boats to attract plankton and whale sharks.

SACHIKA LIVEABOARD
The Sachika is a luxury live board based in the Maldives offering itineraries in the Central and Deep Southern Atolls. Ten spacious cabins, all ensuite with individual air conditioning and a mini-bar can accommodate 22 guests. Meals are served buffet style on the main deck with coffee, tea and bottled mineral water available at all times.
Sachika is a fully equipped cruiser with a large salon, spacious sun deck with a jacuzzi, lounge area at the bow and on the Captain’s deck, a lounge bar with panoramic views. A professional massage therapist is also on board.
Diving takes place from a traditional Maldivian Dhoni providing ample space for divers. Your dive kit and compressors are kept on board the dhoni, making the diving easy and keeping the noise at a minimum.
