A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends & Supporters,

I am so glad you are here to kick-off our 2022 season. For theaters across the
country, the past two years have been incredibly challenging for obvious reasons.
As a non-profit organization, we had hoped to make a full 'comeback' earlier, but
with variants and mandates, it made it seem nearly impossible. We used the time to
expand our educational offerings, fine-tune our curriculum and enhance the
experience for our students and families. That all being said, we knew that our
number one goal had to be to return to live performances as quickly and as
normally as possible.

'Matilda' marks the first production since March of 2020 that we have a full student
company of unmasked actors. It seems every day there is new information or
recommendations on how we should operate. It has been frustrating and confusing.
The one thing that has undoubtedly kept us all going: the power of live theater. The
dedication of the cast and production team during these uncertain times is to be
admired. I am forever grateful that we are surrounded by such passionate, hard-
working, flexible and caring artists.

There are several themes present in ‘Matilda’. One that really sticks out to me,
however, is the power of imagination. Matilda is an extraordinary girl who, armed
with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, dares to take a stand and change her
destiny. Although perhaps not quite as theatrical, I get to witness the power of
imagination every day here at Broadway Method Academy. Students of all ages
come through our doors with a small dream, whether they’re aware or not. A dream
to be part of something bigger than themselves, a dream to sing in front of an
audience, a dream to be a star.

Friends, I urge you to sit back and watch thirty-three dreams come alive in this
performance. The palpable energy coming from the stage is inspiring. You too, can
be part of making dreams come true. The effects of COVID-19 are not fully behind
us. Patrons like you can help sustain Broadway Method Academy by either
becoming a donor or season subscriber and ensuring the future of musical theater
will forever be bright.
