ABOUT AYDBS2019

ASEAN +3 YOUTH DIGITAL BUSINESS SUMMIT 2019

An international event organized with a regional flavor, the ASEAN+3 YDBS serves to encourage and develop
digital business amongst youths, foster discussions, and collaboration between existing practitioners and
stakeholders.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia, International Youth Centre (IYC), Malaysia Digital
Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Malaysia Cyber Consumer Association (MCCA) the event will gather youth
delegates, experts from private sectors, civil society, governments, and technoentrepreneurs from Malaysia
and the ASEAN region including Japan, Korea and China for 2 days of panel discussions, workshops and
brainstorming activities. An expo will also be held to exhibits products and cultures of youth delegates
respective organization, projects or activities.

Through the ASEAN platform, youths are encouraged to harness the cross-border knowledge and expertise
with their peers and fellow industry practitioners. Despite comprising 10 different countries that are different
politically and economically, ASEAN communities also share many socio-cultural similarities.

WHAT IS DIGITAL BUSINESS ?

As expert puts it, digital business is the creation of new business outlines by obscuring the digital
and physical worlds. It promises to introduce a remarkable convergence of people, business and
things that disrupts existing business models – even those born of the Internet and e-business eras.
Digital business helps to eliminate barriers that now exist among industry segments while
creating new value chains and business opportunities that traditional businesses cannot offer.
This is an another world that makes the earlier ones obsolete while making massive opportunities
for those who can visualize the opportunity.

WHY DIGITAL BUSINESS ?

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) has given a new impetus to the business transformation that
needed for the region to ensure great good impact can be achieved as technology has played a
major role in advancing in most areas of our everyday lives.
The promise of digital business is that a universe of applications and digitalized assets that work
together almost automatically will allow very rapid development of new capabilities that will yield
competitive advantage with an impact that can be replicated and scaled not only in Malaysia but
beyond. Besides, this is critical to this endeavor is the education, inclusion and active participation
of young people in Malaysia.
Organizations that excel in the digital industrial economy will be those that can become more
technologically capable and sophisticated. Their digital stories will be written in technology.
