Welcome to Greater Woodfield - VacationFun.com

Greater Woodfield is the home to a thriving arts com-munity. Discover art festivals, art walks and an array of special activities. Piece together your perfect weekend.

Welcome to Greater Woodfield

The 12 communities that form the Greater Woodfield region of

Northwest Suburban Chicago truly have established themselves as a

bright, new Destination for Leisure Travel, Meetings & Conventions, and

Tour Groups - “Chicago’s City in the Suburbs.”

Hotels, from luxury to budget; restaurants, from fine dining to Chicago

Style Pizza; attractions, from Arlington Park Racetrack and Medieval Times

to the fabulous Lynfred Winery; and the finest shopping in the five-state

region.

And we’re not finished yet! 2006 will be a banner year for us with our

new Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center coming on

line in July and the super Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates sched-

uled to be up and running in October.

The Convention Center, at 100,000 square feet, plus a 28,000 square

foot ballroom, and a 500-room luxury Renaissance hotel will be a land-

mark complex establishing a physical presence that will be an icon for

our region in addition to its ability to offer new services and amenities.

Likewise, the Sears Centre Arena with 11,000 seats for three profession-

al sports teams, a private club and 43 luxury suites, also will be “concert

central” and host such outstanding entertainment offerings as circuses

and ice shows.

This complex also will include a 100,000-square foot, indoor/outdoor

waterpark, an outdoor, summertime concert venue, and a huge new

Cabela’s outdoor store that will be a tourism attraction in itself.

Add these major attractions to a list that already includes the

Woodfield Mall and IKEA, Alexian Field for outstanding minor league

baseball, and the Streets of Woodfield entertainment, dining and shop-

ping complex, and you have a veritable “Who’s Who” of things to do in

Greater Woodfield.

And, you’ll find it all in this Visitors Guide, sectioned to assist you with

your planning. Take a look at the attractions, family fun, nightlife and the-

aters, and sports sections for more things to do. And check the dining

and hotel sections for suggestions on where to dine, and for hotel

accommodations just right for you.

Special events happen almost every weekend in Greater Woodfield,

and our Calendar of Events and handy maps guide you to the places

you want to be.
