Struktur dan konstituen eksudat tanaman dapat sangat bervariasi dan
seringkali spesifik spesies tanaman dan termasuk molekul dengan berat
molekul tinggi (misalnya gula, lipid, dan protein) dan molekul pemberi
sinyal dengan berat molekul rendah (misalnya asam organik dan amino)
