Coach Johnstone

Douglasville GA 30135

Dear Coach Johnstone,

The article that I choose to read is from Tomorrow’s Business Leader
Bringing Business and Education Together Fall 2015 and it is called the Top 5
Reasons to Consider a Career in insurance. I chose this article because it
seemed the most interesting because insurance can be a thing that people
just out of school can forget about. They look over insurance because they
are so focused on other things. The author from the Institutes did a great
job explaining why to consider insurance as a career.

The article is about why you should consider having insurance as a career.
Having insurance as a career is a good plan if you are not sure what you
want to be when you grow up. A reason to take insurance as you career is
that you will have a life outside of your work and that you will be rewarded
for your hard work. Also if you are looking for a career to have options this is
your career. You can choose from a variety jobs because insurance is used
for just about everything and everyone should have it. Finally, it does not
matter your educationally background because a variety of the positions can
be done by any degree.

From the article I learned that it is important to keep the insurance career in
mind because it can be a good job to help you when you do not know what
you want to do with your life. Additionally, insurance is not a hard job to do
because it does not matter the degree there is positions for the jobs. You
will also never be stuck you can move around and ty different jobs within the
insurance career. This career line is helpful for those who need a career that
does not require extreme difficulty.

Sincerely,

Kristin Beasley

Dear Mr. Johnstone

The article, Recruitment, Recruitment, Recruitment! Is focused on recruiting new members to
the club Future Business Leaders of America and showing other people’s opinions about FBLA
and their passion about FBLA that influences people to join. Sharing each other’s experiences is
the big secret of getting people to join FBLA. Ways of recruitment would be flyers, emails,
recruitment booths, speaking in front of classes and Social Media, but the most valuable source
of recruitment is word of mouth because it gets people talking about how much fun and helpful
FBLA.
Future Business Leaders of America look to reqruit in Freshmen and Sophmore classes and
Business Students because they are just learning about all the new clubs people could join and
get involved with their school, but the reasons to join Future Business Leaders of America are
endless you would be able to earn scholarships, also have the ability to Travel with you FBLA
group and go new places meet new people. FBLA Can also be plenty of fun and learning for
everyone and getting job experience is amazing while having fun
FBLA thinks when a potential member grabs your flier or information. Their first Impression of
FBLA should be a great experience and your information should weigh out the pros of joining
FBLA instead of the cons. When potential recruits do join and become members it is important
that they have every opportunity they wish within the organization and enjoy every bit!
Sincerely, Conrad Hunter

Dear Coach Johnstone:

I have decided to read the Article titled “Recruitment, Recruitment, Recruitment” by PBL
National Secretary Travis London. This is caused by the fact that it has a high contrast between
the text and the background, as well as the fact that it is well structured. It starts off with an
impactful quote that catches your attention as soon as you see it.

The article starts off with a quote by Zig Ziglar saying, “When you catch a glimpse of your
potential, that’s when passion is born.” It then goes into a persuasive format, by answering the
common question of how to properly recruit people for FBLA. It gives suggestions such as going
to potential members, sharing experiences, using social media, etc. It ends by explaining what
people can do once they have joined, as well as giving references for more information.

I have learned new ways of recruitment, not just for FBLA, but for just about any organization.
You have to put your organization out there, on both social media and public sectors. I also
learned that talking in a group helps people see unity in an organization. The final piece of
information I was made aware of was that talking to large groups can help you gain more interest
and members recruited.

Mr. Forrest Johnstone

Dear Mr. Johnstone:

There are many benefits of having a member ship with FBLA. I chose to read
this article for a few reasons. One includes that I wanted to understand what
different or new opportunities that FBLA had to offer. I also wanted to learn
how FBLA could help me later and now in life. The author of the article “Big
10 Benefits of Membership” lists different facts that help me learn about the
program.

The article lists reasons that allow me to understand what FBLA does and
what it is about. It allows you to showcase your academic/leadership success
and excellence in over 50 events each year. While allowing members to
travel, it also creates connections with business professionals, workshop
presenters, and other student members. As many young adults mention that
they wished they had given back to the community, FBLA allows this to
occur. FBLA also helps and allows members to gain scholarships, internships,
job opportunities, and different skills needed for the opportunities. While
giving members these advantages, FBLA gives students a chance to
socialize, be recognized, and have fun.

From reading this article, I have learned many things. I have learned how
FBLA can help me as a person. I have also learned how it helps my
community and country. I have learned different things about the program,
Future Business Leaders of America.

Sincerely,

Delois Howard

5 strengths:

 Trustworthy IBT
 Friendly
 Hard worker 9/10 Use Full
 Team oriented Sentences
 Responsible
Good thoughts
Weakness:

 Public speaking

A weakness that I have is that I have a hard time talking in front of people or
presenting a project. When I get in front of people to present my project I kind of
like freeze up and stutter and forget what I am supposed. To fix this I could
practice saying it over and over. When I get up to present I need to remember to
breath and not stress about everything. I should be able to relax. Or I could take a
public speaking class to try and give me better tips for getting over this weakness.
Hopefully one day I will be able to speak in front of people without fear.

Korey Patton 4th 10/20/16

BAA Activity 15 Career Awareness and Exploration

My strengths include my ability to adapt to any one situation and engage in intelligent and
relevant conversation on virtually any topic. I am a very punctual person who sees it necessary to
always arrive promptly 10 minutes before my required start time. I am a very hard worker and
follow through with anything I set my mind too. I am very thorough in conversation and am a
very active listener. I also am very dedicated to whatever business or assignment that I am
entitled to complete.

My weakness is … I easily get off-task.

How I will overcome my weakness is by concentrating on everything I am doing while working
on something or at work. I am a very social person and enjoy engaging in conversation with
peers and supervisors. Sometimes when I am talking with them I tend to lose sight of my main
goal or objective. I will learn how to proficiently multitask so that I will be able to work and also
be able to complete my task. Multitasking will allow me to stay on task while also getting my
work done and will allow me to overcome my main weakness. It will greatly help my
performance overall.

100! Great Job.

Strengths and Weaknesses

My best strength is that I can talk and communicate with people very easily.

I am also very good at swimming and competing against others.

I love to share my opinion openly and freely.

Friends tell me that I am a good listener and I help people in tough situations.

I enjoy eating and watching American Horror Story.

My weakness is that I am a very bad writer.

How I overcome my weakness is that I practice writing small short stories/

essays to improve my overall writing habits. My Literature teacher provides me

with examples and strategies to make my paragraphs better by using different
words and not just everyday over-used words. For example, instead of using ‘said’,
I can use ‘exclaimed’ or ‘whispered and shouted’. Another good thing I use to

improve my writing is using more detailed descriptions and stronger adjectives.

One last way I practice improving my writing is that I plan out my thoughts before
I begin writing. These ‘pre’ thoughts are plotted out where I can see everything I

am going to talk about in my essay or short story.

Good Job!
100!
