Throughout the course of the micro-teaching class, I had the opportunity to plan and deliver a complete lesson plan to my peers as my students, aiming to enhance my learning experience. This class taught me about the challenges I will encounter during teaching, and the strategies I will input to improve my teaching skills over the course of the semester and for future. One of the key aspects I realized early on was the importance of thorough lesson preparation, it should be done a day before minimum, weather it is the lesson plan or lesson material. To ensure a successful lesson, I dedicated time to research the topic, identify relevant resources, and design interactive activities that would facilitate active learning and one of the helpful resources are from DSKP and Close-Up book. I aimed to create a lesson plan that would engage my learners and cater to their diverse learning needs. However, as the weeks progressed, I discovered the value of flexibility in lesson planning. While I initially aimed for a detailed lesson plan, I learned that adapting to the dynamics of the class and responding to spontaneous questions or discussions was crucial. I learned to strike a balance between structure and flexibility, allowing for learning opportunities to arise while still maintaining a clear focus on the intended learning outcomes. Creating an well planned CS, LS and LO in my lesson plan has become an important part of micro-teaching class. I also learned how to construct a well-planned lesson plan with the activities and also input links. Lesson plan that we create should be accessible and interactive. I also learned new websites and activities that I can use in my lesson. OVERALL REFLECTION START WITH 1
One challenge I faced in facilitating engagement was addressing the different learning styles and preferences for group of students. Some learners like group activities, while others prefer individual activities. To address this, I learned to incorporate a mix of activities that catered to different learning preferences, allowing each participant to engage in a way that suits them best. This approach ensurers that every learner had the opportunity to actively participate and contribute to the class. Finally receiving feedback became a important part of my learning. I actively encouraged self-reflection for my-self. I incorporated regular reflection recording of my every activity, tasks, projects and classes. I was able to be on track and keep notes of my leanings. This also allowed me to look back at my notes and important key points in my leanings throughout the semester. In conclusion, micro-teaching class provided me with valuable insights into the art of teaching and learning. Through meticulous lesson preparation, fostering engagement and interaction, and incorporating feedback and reflection, I was able to enhance the learning experiences. This experience not only helped me develop my teaching skills but also increased my appreciation for the complexities and challenges faced by educators. It taught me the importance of adaptability, flexibility, and student-contentedness in creating effective learning environments. As I move forward in my teaching journey, I will carry these learning to my future job. OVERALL REFLECTION 2
PERSONAL PRINCIPLE Through micro-teaching, I have learned of some personal principles. My personal believes involve, creating an environment that encourages active participation and growth among learners. My personal principle revolves around the notion that engagement and interaction are key to unlocking the full potential of individuals. I will make sure to use teaching aids and materials to teach the pupils and also make sure it is engaging to the pupils. Moreover, I will prioritize creating a safe and inclusive space for the pupils. I strive to establish an atmosphere where learners feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, asking questions, and sharing their perspectives. By fostering a sense of trust and respect, I believe learners will be more focused on activities and engage in the learning process when we use attentiongetting methods. Furthermore, I think in that using good stimuli such as good body language, voice and gestures will encourage my students in the learning process. I will keep my students focused and entertained by using good interaction with students. I will also create tasks that involves group discussions and activities that will boost the students confidence to communicate. 3
PERSONAL PRINCIPLE Other than that, I will design my lesson plan to incorporate interactive activities, discussions, and practical exercises. By actively involving learners in the learning process. I aim to ignite their curiosity and promote a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Whether through group work, simulations, or role-playing, I encourage learners to step out of their comfort zones and actively participate in their own learning journey. Additionally, I value the importance of feedback and reflection. I encourage learners to provide input, share their insights, and offer feedback. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learners can refine their skills and enhance their understanding. I provide timely and specific feedback, highlighting areas of strength and areas for development. This feedback loop encourages learners to reflect on their progress, make adjustments, and strive for growth. In conclusion, I believe my learning in Microteaching helps me in my teaching journey. I will use all of my principles towards my students and handle the classroom as effective as possible. 4
