ON RESUMES

TAILORING YOUR RESUME IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS
THAT YOU CAN DO IN YOUR INTERNSHIP AND JOB SEARCH.

Many students create their resumes highlighting a broad range of
accomplishments; however, employers have a hard time connecting students'
experiences with their opportunities. This guide will help you create a tailored
resume that will knock the socks off employers!

RESUME GUIDELINES

General Tips

Use a design platform that you are comfortable with: InDesign, Word, etc.
Resumes should be easy to read - complicated does not impress employers
Make your resume unique to you - do not copy someone else's
Proofread multiple times to eliminate all spelling errors
Verify that links listed work correctly
Focus on accomplishments, not job duties
Be as detailed in descriptions of achievements as possible
Begin each bullet with an action verb (past or present tense) depending on whether the job
is over or on-going
