IN APPRECIATION
The kindness and LOVE of family and friends is what has
sustained us during this time. Words cannot express how
grateful our family is for your generous support, encouraging
words, thoughts, prayers, and LOVE. We’d also like to
express our gratitude for the medical professionals that helped
our family care for our beloved Faye.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

REPAST
Como Community Center
4660 Horne Street
Fort Worth, Texas 76107

Our Angel, her mother and father’s only daughter was born at home
on a Saturday afternoon on August 7th, 1948 in Lake Como, Texas. Her
father, with so much joy in his heart to finally have a girl, upon her
birth, wrapped her up and ran outside in an unseasonably cool 83
degrees to introduce her to the world. She would be given the name
Constance Faye Mickens and thus began this remarkable life that we
gather to celebrate today; a life imprinted with an unrestrained love
for family, friends and strangers and an unwavering commitment to
Jesus’ New Commandment to “ Love One Another”.
Her service and commitment to God would begin at Greater Strangers
Rest Baptist Church where she was baptized under the Reverend R.W.
West.

Being the only girl of 4 siblings she inherited another set of parents in
her brothers Roy ,Coy and Roscoe, who took great joy in exercising
their perceived authority as overseers of her every move. Growing up
in a home full of music, relatives, friends and food. She was quiet,
reserved and observant. Her Mother’s demeanor, nature and abilities
as a cook and comforter became her own. In 1966 she would graduate
from The Lake Como High School.
God would bless her with two daughters, Tonna and Tashawnti,
whom she would pour her love into throughout her life, successfully
demonstrating through word, deed, and sacrifice exactly what a
woman of God's providence should aspire to be. In 1981 she married
Donald Jones, embarking on a military journey with her family, moving
to Anchorage, Alaska in 1984. Constance's legacy of love grew with
the birth of her first grandchild, Jazmin, followed by Jared, Satiyah
Jayla, Lavender and MJ. Her love for them always paramount as she
sought to embody them with the same values and love, unrestrained
that her parents instilled in her.
She would later be blessed to see the birth of two Great

Granddaughters, Karmyn and Kynlei. Over the course of her life she
would establish a sisterhood of loving and dedicated best friends. She
would join Abundant Life Community Church, under the direction of
Rev. Larry Atkins, her Pastor and great friend to she and her family. Her
life was one of love, sacrifice, service and dedication to God. Never
angry, always deferring to patience and prayer, forgiving and
dispensing exceptionally wise counsel were gifts she joyfully embodied
in every moment of her life.
Her God inspired life here in this earthly realm came to completion on
the evening of June, 22, 2022. Surrounded by friends and family she
quietly ascended to the presence of God to once again see her parents,
Roscoe and Lovie, her brother Roy and her sister Laverne, nephew
Kevin and other family and friends that preceded her to Glory.
This account of her life does not begin to express who this beautiful,
loving and angelic woman was to so many people or how she will
forever impact our lives for generations to come. She was our
Matriarch, our Counselor and Consoler, she was everything and then
some more.
We are forever blessed and eternally grateful that God saw fit in his
Amazing Grace to send her round our way, if only for a short glorious
moment.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband Donald Jones,
her daughters, Tonna (Anthony), Tashawnti, her Grandchildren Jazmin,
Jared, Satiyah, Jayla, Lavender and MJ, her Great Grandchildren,
Karmyn and Kynlei, her brothers Coy and Roscoe (Debra), Virgil Mickens
(Roy), additionally Sister In Laws: Dianne Jones, Sandra Jones, Brother
In Laws: Theodore Jones, Andre Jones, Anthony Jones, Mother In Law,
Jessie Jones, Father In Law, late Theodore Jones Sr. and a host of loving
nieces, nephews and cousins as well as an overwhelming plethora of
dear friends who will forever love our Mama, Nana, Auntie, Constance
Faye, take your rest now in the eternal presence of God!

“If Roses Grow In Heaven”

If roses grow in heaven

Lord please pick a bunch for me,

Place them in my Mother’s arms

and tell her they’re from me

Tell her I love her and I miss her

and when she turns to smile

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for awhile.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

but there’s an ache within my heart

that will never go away.

Love, Tonna & Shawn

“Nana’s Girls”

The most spectacular human, That I've ever known
You'd be so proud, To see how much I've grown

An unbreakable bond, That only we knew
So much of who I am, I owe solely to you

We stood eye to eye, Strong women unbroken
A knowing between us, Left nothing unspoken

You showed me true love, And you taught me grace
You were my sanctuary, & my happy place

You were a gift in my life, For all these years
"I wish we'd had longer", Said through heartbroken tears

Loving and loyal, Hints of mischief and defiance
Fierce and strong, The trademarks of our alliance

You helped me build a paddle, For life’s canoe
But it never occurred to me that, I'd be navigating without you

My moral compass, Continues to lead the way
And your legacy lives on, In me every day

You instilled the fear of God, This is true
So when life takes a turn, I know how to get through

So today I will celebrate, In only ways that we knew
I'll love you forever, My whole heart misses you.

Your Granddaughters

“Let Go And Let God”
“A Tear for Nana”

You have suffered auntie long enough,
You were brave strong and tough. Grandmother, when I think about you being gone,
The battle you fought was long and hard,
But it's okay auntie let go and let God. My heart is saddened, and I don't know how I'll go on.
It has hurt all of us when you left that day, You always had time to listen to my complaints,
It left me broken hearted with nothing to say.
I don't want to be selfish say please don't leave, I've said so many times, “That woman's a saint."
Because I did not want to hurt or grieve.
I know in my heart you are in a better place, You taught me more about life than anyone at all.
But I swear im going to miss your beautiful face. And were always available, anytime I would call.
I am going to miss the talks we would have,
And the stories I would tell that would make you laugh. I shed a tear because my "Nana's" gone.
God just needed you to come home,
Yes we know it has made your family sore. Now somehow I'll find the strength to go on.
You will always be remembered every single day, Your Grandsons
From the smile on your face to the things you would say.
You have taken your space in heaven right where you belong,
Right up there with MeMe, Grandpa, Uncle Roy, “A Second Mom Just like You”
Kevin and my mom
