SABI SAND SCHOOL
3 2 28 6 months -
Grade 4
Teachers Jobs created Learners
Our Southern Cross Sabi Sand School stays on course, despite various challenges. Covid has turned the world upside down
and our li le school has not been unaffected. From delayed school openings, forced school closures due to posi ve cases,
retrenchments, and living day-by-day in respect of our school enrolment, has made the last year quite even ul.
Our enrolment has been concerning, with a substan al drop in overall numbers. The financial impact of losing even one
child, or in turn gaining one child, is very real, so we are forced to monitor our finances closely; however, we remain
posi ve for future prospects of ge ng our school back to the same numbers as before.
Tammy, Sarah, and Tsakani, our teachers, are certainly the glue that keeps things together. Their loving, caring, and
suppor ng approach is what makes our school so special and successful! The involvement of our suppor ve parents adds
to the family feel which is tangible the minute you step onto the school grounds.
Our partnership with the Yes For Youth programme has been very successful and we thank the much loved Sindile and
Winnie for their contribu ons as teaching assistants. They certainly took up the challenge and have made the most of
their opportunity.
I would like to thank Iain Olivier for his con nued interest and support of our school. As PTA Chairman, he always goes the
extra mile and we appreciate him immensely.
