EDUCATION

Early Education
At the tender age of six years old, P. Ramlee was showing interest in going to school when his
father had to bring him along to his workplace at a lead (timah) smelting factory which is located
not far from the said school. That school is Sekolah Melayu Kampung Jawa, founded in 1887 and
has known renamed as Sekolah Kebangsaan Tan Sri P. Ramlee in the honor of P. Ramlee himself
who enrolled in the school there and became a part of the school community. P. Ramlee's father
also noted how P. Ramlee would always peek through the windows of the school and expressed
his attentiveness for learning despite being so young. Yet, the teacher at the school grants his
enrollment for class and has him registered for ‘darjah sekerat’ (preschool class). He was also noted
to be a bright student during his time attending school there. This was the start of P. Ramlee’s
education history.

Afterwards, P. Ramlee continued his studies at Francis Light English
School from 1939 to 1941 until he was standard five then World War II
broke out. From there, he went to Penang Free School (PFS), located at
Green Lane in Georgetown which was founded in 1816 and also known as
the oldest English-medium school in Southeast Asia. This school is also
known to be an all-boys school but now girls are also able to be admitted
for Form 6.

Zakaria wasn’t suitable with other children. At this school, P. Ramlee
School wasn’t fond of books and the like as a student and also reportedly known
as a reluctant and naughty student. Instead, P. Ramlee was talented in

Japanese occupation from 1942 until 1945, and was forced to enroll in the Japanese navy academy (Kaigun
Gakko) in order to continue his studies. Regardless, it was here that P. Ramlee received his foundation in

A Brief Discussion
Presentations are communication tools that can be demonstrations,
lectures, speeches, reports, and more. Most of the time, they’re
presented before an audience. They have a variety of purposes,
making them powerful tools for convincing and teaching.
If you’d like to add more content to your presentation, there are plenty
of options. You can include photos of your team, descriptions of
products, or your goals as a company. It all depends on the purpose of
your presentation, and how you plan on layouting your details.
