This is Dan.
Dan the dandelion.
Dan lives in a garden,
a garden full of roses.
The roses were beautiful,
But and mean.
The roses looked down on
Dan and called him names.
You’re just a
stinky weed!
...they would call.
When people came
to admire the roses,
Nobody noticed
little Dan.
Poor Dan!
But Dan was a strong bud.
He was filled with
DETERMINATION.

He drank lots of ,
Took in lots of ,
And
PHOTOSYNTHESIZED
as hard as he could
One day he woke up
with a head of bright yellow hair
Hey look
guys! I’m
colorful too!
The roses just .

He was so Z

he shriveled up into a little ball and went to sleezp.
Days passed, and there was no sound from Dan.
Then, Dan heard a voice.
“What’s wrong?”
the voice asked.
Dan peeked out.
He saw a
Why can’t I be as
beautiful as the roses?
Why aren’t I good
enough?
“Cheer up! You’re just as beautiful as those roses!”
the ladybug said.
What do you know!?
You’re red, too!
“I used to feel ugly too. But
I’ve flown to many places in
my life, and seen all sorts of
things! And I think there is
beauty in everything!”
“Beauty comes from inside! It
doesn’t matter what color
you are, or how tall you are!
All that matters is who YOU
are! Don’t let others tell you
who you are!”
And Dan knew it was true.
