GANPAT UNIVERSITY

THE UNIVERSITY

Ganpat University as a well reputed State Private University
established in 2005 through the State Legislative act no. 19 of 2005,
Government of Gujarat and recognized by the UGC under the
section 2(f) of the UGC act no. 1956 having campus spread over
more than 300 acres of land with world class infrastructure and
more than 10,000 students on campus. The University offers
Diplomas, Under Graduate, Post – Graduate and Research
Programs under the Faculties of Engineering and Technology,
Pharmacy, Management, Computer Applications, Sciences,
Education, Humanities and Social Science and Human Potential
Development. Ganpat University and the township of Ganpat
Vidyanagar, a high-tech education campus is a joint initiatives;
purely for philanthropy; of a large number of industrialists and

SCIENCE IS JUST PHILOSOPHY

Ganpat University- U. V. Patel College of Engineering (GUNI-UVPCE) is situated in Ganpat Vidyanagar campus. It was
established in September-1997 and It is one of the constituent colleges of Ganpat University with a view of educating
and training young talented students of Gujarat in the field of Engineering and Technology to meet the needs of
Industries in Gujarat and across globe.

It has modern infrastructural facilities, appropriate teaching tools & environment and full-time faculty for teaching
various programs along with inputs by visiting and guest faculty from leading academic institutions and industries
from time to time. The Institute, at present, offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes.

Placement plays key role in shaping the future of the students and keeping this in mind the institute has created
healthy relations with the prominent industries also. This in turn is reciprocally advantageous. The industries get a
chance to utilize the resources of the institute for their R & D work and in return extend every possible help to the
institute. As part of this initiative, Incubation Centre/Start-up activities have been set up.

ADMISSION PROCESS AND ELIGIBILITY

Admission Process:
State Quota (SQ) Seats: Online Admission process of 75% Sate Quota seats is carried out by Admission Committee
for Professional Courses (ACPC), Commissionerate of Technical Education, Gujarat State. Visit ACPC
website www.jacpcldce.ac.in for more details.
Management Quota (MQ) Seats: Admission process of 25% Management Seats which includes 15% NRI seats.
These seats are filled by institute as a Management Quota Seats as per the guidelines of ACPC. Candidate must
register and apply online on the Institute/Ganpat University website.
Vacant Seats: After offering admission to all the candidates whose names appear in the merit list or after
completion of the online admission process, if the seats remain vacant, such vacant seats shall be filled by the
institution by preparing common merit list, in accordance with the directions of the ACPC.
Eligibility For B.Tech:
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics / Chemistry/ Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/
Biology/Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business
Studies/Entrepreneurship (Any of the three subjects). Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates
belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

OR
Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case
of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral
entry are exhausted
Eligibility For M.Tech:
Passed Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of
candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

AWARD AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Teaching Assistantship: Upto 100% financial aid would be provided in the form of teaching assistantship or in other
form to the students of PG programmes.
GANPAT UNIVERSITY Alumni Student: Ganpat University Alumni are offered special scholarship in tuition fees
Rank Scholarship: The Institute/University gives away awards and scholarship to the meritorious students securing
first, second and third position in all specialisations separately.
Gold medals for the scholastic performance are also given by the university during the convocation ceremony.

Teaching- learning process
All possible efforts are made to ensure students' fullest growth and development in a safe and congenial environment.
Besides the basic methods of class room teaching like delivering lectures, power point presentations, case studies,
group discussion and role plays are being regularly conducted at the institute.
Parents-Teacher Meeting:
Every semester parents-teacher meeting is scheduled. Parent teacher meeting is an effective way for parents and
teachers to interact with each other and discuss about the academic progress of their children.
Guest Lecture:
Eminent personality from the industry and academics, come and share their experience with students and faculties.
Students take this as an opportunity to interact with them enhance their understanding.
Seminar/Workshop/Webinar:
To provide a platform to Engineering students, academicians, industry executives and government officials to involve
cooperative discussion and opportunities to share perspectives and issues related to the topic. Seminar has
numerous benefits, including improving communication skills, gaining expert knowledge, networking with others and
renewing motivation and confidence.
Industrial Visit:
Main aim of industrial visit is to provide real time exposure to students about practical working environment.
Industrial visit provides opportunity to students to interact with industry people on workplace itself and first hand
exposure of on how industry works, how different department/function works. This exposure improved the learning
ability of students as they can observe class room concepts practiced in the industries.

It was established in September-1997 and It is

Ÿ Bestowed a Diamond Award under the category 'Best Industry-Academia Initiative by Academic Institute' in the 8th
GESIA Annual Awards - 2015 held on 13th March 2015 at Ahmedabad as recognition of an active association with
eInfochips.

Ÿ Robocon Team of U. V. Patel College of Engineering secured 6th rank (out of 85 teams) at India level in Robocon
National Contest 2015, held at Pune and won award for the “BEST IDEA”.

Ÿ SHATASHVA Baja 2015 Team of UVPCE secured 1st Rank in Best eBaja Team Award [E-112] at India level in Baja

Bosch Rexroth Center of Excellence:
The objective of this programme is to expose the participants to different aspects of automation and to improve their
knowledge in hydraulic and pneumatic drives, PLC, logic circuits and sensor technology. The programme covers both
class room and laboratory components in line with those recommended by Bosch-Rexroth, Germany.

Micro Focus Center of Excellence:
Micro Focus Software University is a key initiative from Micro Focus Education Services focused on helping students
and early stage technology professionals build the skills to succeed in industry. We partner with universities around
the world to bridge the gap between the traditional university curriculum and actual industry experience so as to
broaden opportunities for the next generation of technology professionals. Industry experts who have years of
knowledge and experience design our curriculum. The content includes real-time case scenarios and exercises that
aim to address training needs from novice to expert levels.

EC Council Center of Excellence:
EC-Council University has signed a historic MoU, for the larger benefit of the students of Ganpat University. The MoU
will fortify the students' career prospects and enable them to gain international exposure through its unique offerings.

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER

The Library has been catering to the needs of the undergraduates, postgraduates, faculty and staff members of all the
departments of the institution. The book collection continues to support the teaching, research, development and
other professional activities of these departments. The demands of the ever-growing research areas across multiple

EXTRA CURRICULUM ACTIVITIES

SPORTS
With a view to develop the all-round personality of the students, the
University emphasizes as much on sports as on academics. The University
encourages students to attain sporting excellence and provides all the
necessary facilities and equipments to the students for maintaining
physical fitness and good health.
GUNI is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), an
organization promoting university activities especially by way of sharing
information and cooperation in the field of education, culture, sports and
allied areas. The University has top sports facilities including the following:
400-metre all-weather athletics track, Basket Ball Courts, Cricket Ground,
Volleyball Courts, Football Grounds, Kabaddi Courts, Hockey Field, Kho-
Kho Court, Handball Field, Table Tennis facility, Tennis Court, Health &
Fitness Center.

YUVA RANGAT (GARBA FUNCTION)
Yuva Rangat Garba Mahotsav is organized during the Navratri festival. All
students, staff members, faculty members, HODs and Deans of constituent
institutes of Ganpat University and officers of the University participated in this
festival. All faculty and staff members along with students do the Ma Durga AARTI.
The winner in different categories like Solo-Male-Female and Group-Male-Female
are awarded trophies.

CONVERGENCE

Convergence is one of the flagship annual events at U. V. Patel College of Engineering. It is a National Level Technical
Festival for Engineering students for Two days, being organized by the Faculty of Engineering & Technology since
2002. Convergence is one of the most awaited events of the year, making campus vibrant, full of energy, excitement
and youthfulness. 2500+ prospective engineers from various parts of India, meet on a common platform, interact and
share ideas – it is really an event full of opportunities and possibilities. Convergence provides a platform for
showcasing technical skills of students, learning about the latest technological developments, besides opportunities
for enhancement of creativity & innovativeness, leadership skills and spirit of teamwork.
There are a vast variety of technical events of different branches like Inforcrats, Biofusion, Constructo, Electabuzz,
Electrospectro, Mech-A-Nizer, Tech- Marino and Eureka-Maths. Some general events like Bollywood Hunter, Food
Fiesta, Open-mic and many more are organized.

FRESHER'S ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

The College's orientation programme is designed to support new
students as they begin their journey at GUNI-UVPCE. We aim to
create opportunities and offer experiences that are directly informed
by the educational philosophy and practices of the College, and
through which students will be able to engage their passions,
challenge their beliefs, and continue to grow intellectually, socially,
and emotionally.
Technical Clubs
The College has various clubs like Robocon, E-Baja, Aero-modeling,
Innovative Project Idea Competition, IEEE, CSI and Eloquence,
where students from diverse technical disciplines come together,
share and implement their expertise to create technical wonders.
UVPCE makes sure to engross students in such technical events.

NSS ACTIVITY

UVPCE serves as a cause for social upliftment through a number of partnerships and programs. The college is
authorized for a National Service Scheme - NSS unit consisting of more than 200 volunteers, urging to pay social heed,
fore fronting Blood Donation Camps, Functional Literacy Drives. Awareness programs related to Health, Education
and Agriculture.
UVPCE has been instrumental in organizing several short-term training programs, workshops, seminars and expert
lectures on various topics for the overall development of education fraternity.

The Placement Cell organizes career guidance programmes for all the students starting from first year. The cell
organizes training programmes like Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Communication Skills Workshop etc and it
also organizes Public Sector Exam Training for students who are interested to join Government Sectors. It also invites
HR Managers from different industries to conduct training programmes for final year students.

ANTI-RAGGING

Ÿ The Anti-Ragging cell has been established to fulfill the vision of making UVPCE an anti-ragging zone. The mission
of Anti-Ragging cell is to develop an accountable attitude among the students community in order to maintain a
harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute free from ragging.

Ÿ The main objective of the cell is to advise the students to refrain from inciting students against other students.
UVPCE has a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. It is strictly prohibited inside and outside the campus. The
institute strictly follows the guidelines on ragging issued by the Gazettee of India dated 4-10 July 2009.

Ÿ To fulfill the purpose, UVPCE has established Anti-Ragging core committee, Anti-Ragging committee with Anti-
Ragging Squad.

Mechatronics, which is also called mechatronic engineering, is a multidisciplinary branch of engineering that focuses
on the engineering of both electrical and mechanical systems, and also includes a combination of robotics,
electronics, computer, telecommunications, systems, control, and product engineering. As technology advances over
time, various subfields of engineering have succeeded in both adapting and multiplying. The intention of
mechatronics is to produce a design solution that unifies each of these various subfields.

The course on B.Tech. in Petrochemical Engineering is run under the Department of Mechanical & Mechatronics

Information Security Lab Students can perform encryption, cipher key coding, decryption etc.

Microprocessor & Provide hardware and software training in the field of micro-processor and
Microcontroller Lab microcontroller.

Artificial Intelligence Lab Experiments based on Artificial Intelligence are performed in this Lab.
The lab is well equipped with required tools for performing various
experiments on sensors and robotics.

Communication Lab A modern and well-equipped Communication Lab has been set up to perform
the experiments related to various communication subjects in the field of fiber
optics, analog and digital communication.

Digital Electronics Lab The experiments of various subjects related to digital electronics are
conducted in this laboratory. It also has various test equipment and trainer kits.

Web Development// Cloud Students can perform practical using HTML, CSS as well as on cloud computing.
Computing Lab

Basic Electronics Lab The students use discrete components to build the circuits on bread-board and
test it with the available equipment. It also has many trainer kits from APLAB
for analog circuits.

Digital Image Processing Lab Students can perform practical based on image processing, image compression,
image enhancement etc. on MATLAB tool.

Embedded System Lab We have Micro tutor development system for ARM -7 from EDUTECH for
Digital Signal Processing Lab performing practical based on embedded system. Students are given exposure
to real world interfacing through the medium of programming in Embedded C.

Laboratory of Digital Signal Processing course aims at practical experience with
the simulation and development of basic signal processing algorithms, using
standardized environments such as MATLAB and general-purpose DSP
development kits.

Object Oriented Programming, Laboratory is well equipped with latest configuration computers and software
C, C++, JAVA, tools like C, C++, JAVA etc where the students can perform programming on
Data Structure Lab OOP/JAVA/ Data structure related experiments

Essential of software foundation Laboratory is equipped with latest configuration computers and python, PHP

and programming Lab softwares. Students develop the logic and write programs related to real world.
