Introduction
There is lots of famous Korean foods to eat when you
go to Korea. In this book I’m going to tell you the top
ten most famous foods to eat when you go there. One
of the most famous foods are bibimbap, hotteok,
japchae, etc.
5th - seolleongtang

Seolleongtang is a ox bone soup. It is very popular all year long but it is mostly
famous in winter.
Ingredients
2 ½ pounds of ox bones, 2 pounds beef flank, water, radish (Korean), onion,
green onion, pepper, and sesame oil.
How make it
First soak ox bones and beef in cold water for 20 min. Second rinse the bones
in cold water many times. Third boil 13 cups of water in a pot. Put the bones in
the pot and wait for ten minutes. Take out the meat and rinse them in cold
water. But the bones back into the pot. Put the onion and radish into the pot.
Boil the water for 2030 minutes then lower the heat and leave it for 3 hours.
Take out the beef and radish and put it in a bowl. Pour out the brownish broth
and put it into a large bowl. Keep it in the fridge. Put more water and then boil
it again in medium high heat for 20 min. Then lower the heat and leave it for
3hrs. Open the lid put the broth into the bowl. Do this process one more time.
cool down the collected bowl and put it in the fridge until the fat floats to the top.
remove the fat with a spoon. put that into a bowl. slice the cooked beef. Then
add the radish and beef into the soup. Finally slice green onion and put it into
the soup.
4th - hotteok

Hotteok is a flour pancake with brown sugar syrup.
Ingridients
Flour, water, dry yeast, salt, vegetable oil, sugar, brown sugar, walnuts, and
cinnamon powder.
How to make it
Put 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoon of white sugar, 2 of yeast, ½ of sugar, 1
vegetable of oil into a bowl and mix it. Add 2 tablespoon flour and mix it with your
hands. Let the dough rinse. Leave it with the lid closed at room temperature for
1 hr. Rinse it for another 1020 min.
Mix ½ cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, and 2 tablespoon
of chopped walnuts in a bowl.
Take the lid off the dough and put ½ cup of dough on a cutting board.
Put the dough on your cutting board and knead it. Make it into a lump, and cut it
into 8 equalsized balls. Take 1 dough ball, flatten it, put some filling in the center
of the dough, and then seal it to make a ball. Repeat this. Heat up your non
stick pan more than medium and put vegetable oil in it. Put the dough on the pan
and press the ball into a thin circle. cook for about 1 minute then turn it over
and lower the heat and cook for one more minute.

3rd - Japchae

Japchae is a sweet potato starch noodles stir fried with vegetables.
Ingredients
Beef, black ground pepper, carrot, eggs, garlic, green onion, onion, red bell
pepper, alt, sesame oil, sesame seeds, mushroom, soy sauce, spinach, starch
noodles, sugar, and vegetable oil.
How to make it
Put beef and mushroom into a bowl and mix it with 1 clove of minced garlic, 1

fork.
Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to a heated nonstick pan. Mix the oil around
so it covers the pan, and then wipe off the excess heated oil with a kitchen
towel. Turn off the heat and pour the egg yolk mixture into the pan. Spread
it. Let it cook in the pan for about 1 minute. Flip it over and let it sit on the
pan for 1 more minute. Let it and slice it into thin strips. Bring a large pot
of water to a boil. Add the spinach and blanch for 30 seconds to 1 minute,
then take it out with a slotted spoon. Let the water keep boiling to cook the
noodles. Rinse the spinach in cold water. Squeeze it with your hands. Cut it a
few times and put it into a bowl. Mix with 1 teaspoon soy sauce and 1
teaspoon sesame oil. Put it into a large mixing bowl. Put the noodles into the
boiling water and cook for 1 minute. Stir them with a wooden spoon. Cover
and keep cooking for another 7 minutes. Strain and cut them a few times
with kitchen scissors. Put the noodles into the large bowl next to the spinach.
Add 2 teaspoons sesame oil, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Mix
well by hand or a wooden spoon. This process will season the noodles and
also keep the noodles from sticking to each other. Heat up a skillet over
medium high heat. Add 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil with the onion, the green
onion, and a pinch of salt. Stirfry about 2 minutes. Transfer to the bowl.
Heat up the skillet again and add 2 teaspoons vegetable oil. Add the white
mushrooms and a pinch of salt. Stirfry for 2 minutes. Put the noodles into
the bowl. Heat up the skillet and add 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Add the carrot
and stirfry for 20 seconds. Add the red bell pepper strips and stirfry
another 20 seconds. Transfer to the noodle bowl. Heat up the skillet and add
2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Add the beef and mushroom mixture and stir
fry for a few minutes. It is done.

Ingridients
Beef tenderloin, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, green onion, ground black pepper,
Korean pear, onion, rice syrup, sesame oil, and soy sauce.
How to make it
Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Add the sliced beef and mix well.
You can grill, panfry, or BBQ right after marinating, but it’s best to keep it
in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for a tougher cut of beef.

Ingridients

How to make it
Cook rice. You can use a rice cooker or a stainless pot. Prepare a large
platter to put all your ingredients on. Rinse the bean sprouts 3 times and put
them in a pot with a cup of water. Add 1 ts of salt and cook for 20 minutes.
Drain water and mix it with 1 clove of minced garlic, sesame oil and a pinch
of salt. Put it on the platter. Put your spinach in a pot of boiling water and
stir it for a minute. Then rinse it in cold water a few times and squeeze it
lightly. Mix it with a pinch of salt, 1 ts of soy sauce, 1 clove of minced garlic
and sesame oil. Put it on the platter. Cut 2 small size zucchinis into thin
strips, sprinkle them with a pinch of salt, and then mix them together. A few
