Rules on back
SCORING/COMPETING
• Each participant is allowed one punt, one pass and one placekick as part
of his or her competition.
• Scores are based on both distance and accuracy. For example, if a
participant passes the ball 100 feet, but the ball lands 30 feet to the
right of the measuring tape, the final score is calculated by deducting
30 from 100, for a final score of 70. Scores are based on exact feet and
inches (partial inches are rounded to nearest inch). Participants cannot
receive a negative score, but they can receive a score of zero.
• A participant's final score is his or her cumulative total for the three
individual events. For example, if the participant scores 40 for punting,
60 for passing and 22 for kicking, the participant's final score would be
122.
• If a participant goes over the line prior to or before releasing or making
contact with the ball, he or she is penalized five feet. The only exception
is in kicking, where a participant may go over the line without penalty,
provided the tee is placed on or behind the line.
• There is no violation if the kicking tee is kicked with the football during
the kicking event.
• Scores are determined from where a participant's punt/pass/kick first
makes contact with the ground. Bounces or rolls do not add to the
score.
• If a participant tries to punt, pass or kick and misses the ball
completely, it does not count as an attempt, and another attempt is
allowed.
• If a tie exists for first, each participant involved in the tie competes in a
playoff to determine the final standings. The playoff consists of the
participants competing head-to-head in a repeat of all three events.

Disc Golf
The Spirit of the Game
Disc golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on
the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the Rules. All
players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship
at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be. This is the spirit of the game of disc golf
Staggered Starts or Tee Times (rounds where groups start one after another on a certain hole): The
players shall start tem minutes after the teams in front of them. Players may practice until their group
prepares to tee off provided their practice does not distract players on the course.
It is the sole responsibility of the player to be at the course, ready to play in time for the start of their
round.
Groups shall not be more than six players and should be limited to four players whenever possible.
Best Shot Format
Both players throw from each lie (starting with the tee shot), then the team chooses which of the
resulting lies to continue play from, until the hole is completed. •A team may take a reasonable amount
of time to pick which lie they want.
•A lie that is picked up without being marked is gone forever; the team must throw from the other lie.
•If the first player throws from the wrong lie, the second player may still throw from the correct lie.
•In case of injury or disqualification, one partner may play alone, throwing one shot at each lie
(essentially playing singles).
Final ties for first place in the league will be determined by sudden death. Sudden death play shall begin
with hole number one unless a different hole or series of holes is designated by the Intramural staff
prior to the start of the league.
Disc Golf discs can be checked out prior to play at the front desk of the residence hall. Student ID or
Driver’s License are required to be left for disc check out. Discs are to be returned immediately upon
finishing the round. Score sheets will be provided and must be returned immediately after league play.
