Once upon a time, in a forest, there was a clever deer. He lived in the forest with other animals, such as buffaloes, elephants, rabbits, and so on. Deer always looked for food on the banks of the river. One day, he felt hungry. Deer went to look for food. When he arrived at the riverbank, he saw a very thick rambutan tree on the other side of the river. Deer intended to take the rambutan fruit, but in the river there were many Crocodiles watching Deer. Then, the Crocodiles said, "Hey, deer! Are you bored with your life, so you came here?". "Uh... no. I'm here to extend an invitation to you", replied Deer. The Crocodiles were surprised to hear the Deer's words. The Crocodiles asked, "What invitation?". Then, Deer casually answered the Crocodiles' questions. "Next week King Solomon will celebrate a feast and you are all invited to the event". "Party...?" said the Crocodiles with their mouths agape. "Yes, a feast. There will be plenty of food. There was venison, buffalo meat, and even elephant meat." "Aaaaakh, you must be lying! You can't fool us this time!", the Crocodile said with a bit of anger. "Uh no-no, this time I'm serious", Deer replied to convince the Crocodiles. "Are you sure...?", asked the Crocodiles worried about being tricked by Deer. "Yes, sure", replied Derr. "Okay, this time I believe you", said the Crocodiles. "Now, line up neatly, I will count how many Crocodiles are in the river". Then, the Crocodiles lined up neatly. Hoping they would all get the same amount of food. Deer began to count one by one the Crocodiles in the river. After reaching the back of the last Crocodile, Deer immediately jumped to the riverbank. After that, a Squirrel said, "The party was celebrated last week, not next week. Hahaha!". Hearing the Squirrel's words, the Crocodiles felt cheated and very angry. Seeing the angry Crocodiles, the Deer grinned and stuck his tongue out. Then, the Deer hurried away from riverbank, and headed for the fruitful rambutan tree. Finally, Deer was able to eat the rambutan fruit he wanted. cerpen bahasa inggris WISE MOUSE DEER By: Dinda Ambarwati
