NATY’S SALON AND SPA
1028 PASADENA BLVD. PASADENA TX, 77506
06/21/2017
Dear Mrs. Longoria,
I am interested in becoming a part of your team. I am very confident in my work and
believe I meet all requirements for the position. I have great work ethic, interpersonal skills, and
am able to work well in a team environment.
I have visited your salon multiple times throughout my teenage years. I have always felt
welcomed and comfortable in your salon, because of the professional family environment. I have
always aspired to work at Naty’s Salon & Spa where I picture myself being an asset, growing,
and excelling in the field of cosmetology. I truly feel that I would be a great fit.
Throughout my college education, I have gained an array of skills including
communication skills as well as styling techniques. While learning the art of cosmetology I also
worked the front desk using the MEEVO program for client scheduling, payments, and inventory
while answering the phone. I would like to continue education and gain experience at your salon.
I truly feel called to this field and am excited to make clients feel beautiful. I look forward to
scheduling an interview with you to further discuss my future employment with you.
Sincerely,
Lesley Gomez
Why I Chose Cosmetology as my career:
My interests in everything having to do with cosmetology started since I was in elementary
school. Growing up with a mom who was once a hair stylist consisted of wanting highlights at
the age of 10 and simply getting two highlights done one on each side of my head. I wanted to be
just like my mom and have something fun done to my hair. Not only did I want to be like my
mom I also wanted to be able to do things like my older sister who was in intermediate and was
constantly laying on the bed with her hair laid out and ironing her hair with a clothes iron but of
course my mom didn’t let me do that. Around the time I was entering middle is when the
straighteners first came out and my mom bought it for my sister. When my sister wasn’t around I
would use her straightener and I learned how to straighten my hair and also how to curl it. I was
the only girl in my school who was allowed to use a straightener and have highlights and I felt
very pretty considering that throughout my elementary years and up to middle school I was
bullied. As I got older my mom allowed me to do more like put on mascara and eyeliner.
Eventually I would have my cousins asking if I could curl their hair for special occasions when I
was only 14 and to me it was so much fun so I had no problem doing it. From that moment on I
knew exactly what I wanted to do when I got older and here I am now.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this reference at the request of Lesley Conchas, I have known Lesley for
two years in my capacity as an adjunct Cosmetology Instructor at San Jacinto College’s
central campus. Lesley was a student in two of my courses and earned superior grades
in both. Based on Lesley’s grades, attendance, and class participation, I’d rate her
performance in my class as exceptional.
Lesley has many strengths to offer an employer. She is a hard worker, on time, and
eager to learn. I have been impressed with her ability to manage during hectic times, by
remaining calm, and always keeping the customer happy. Lesley gets along well with
her peers, as well as the educational team.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend Lesley. If her performance in my classes is
any indication of how she’ll perform in the available position, she will be an extremely
positive addition to your organization. If you need any additional information, feel free to
contact me at [email protected] anytime.
Sincerely,
Amy Bowen-Prechtl
