Comparison of Adjective

Adjective (คําคณุ ศัพท์) มกี ารเปรยี บเทียบอยู่ 3 ระดบั คือ
ขนั ปกติ (Positive/Regular Adjective), ขนั กวา่ (Comparative
Adjective) และขนั สดุ (Superlative Adjective)

1. Positive/Regular Adjectives คือ การใชค้ ําคณุ ศัพท์ในการ
เปรยี บเทียบขนั ปกติ

โครงสรา้ งประโยค: S + V. to be + as adjective as

Example:
Harry is as tall as his brother.
This bag is as expensive as that one.
That boy is asfat as you.

จะใช้ as…as ในการเปรยี บเทียบของสองสงิ ทีเท่ากันหรอื
เหมอื นกันทกุ ประการ โดยคําคณุ ศัพท์ (Adjective) ทีใชเ้ ปรยี บ
เทียบในขปั กตินีจะไมม่ กี ารเปลียนรูปหรอื เติมคําใดๆ หลัง
adjective นัน ๆ

2. Comparative Adjectives คือ การใชค้ ําคณุ ศัพท์ในการ
เปรยี บเทียบขนั กวา่

โครงสรา้ งประโยคแบบที 1:
S + V. to be + adj. + er + than

Example:
Pug is smallerthan Siberian.
Jim is tallerthan Jane.
My house is bigger than yours.

การเปรยี บเทียบคําคณุ ศัพท์ขนั กวา่ นีมี 2 รูปแบบ คือ รูป
แบบแรกจะมกี ารเติม -er ท้ายคําคณุ ศัพท์ (adjective) นัน ๆ
และตามด้วย than เพอื เปรยี บเทียบวา่ สงิ หนึง … กวา่ อีกสงิ
หนึง

โครงสรา้ งประโยคแบบที 2:

S + V. to be + more + adj. + than

Example:
Physics is more difficult thanMath.
Karaked is more beautiful than Chanward.
This car is more expensive than that car.

รูปแบบทีสองจะเติมคําวา่ more ไวด้ ้านหน้าแล้วตามด้วยคํา
คณุ ศัพท์ (adjective) นัน ๆ และตามด้วย than เพอื เปรยี บ
เทียบวา่ สงิ หนึง … กวา่ อีกสงิ หนึง

3. Superlative Adjectives การใชค้ ําคณุ ศัพท์ในการ
เปรยี บเทียบขนั สงู สดุ

โครงสรา้ งประโยคแบบที 1:
S + V. to be+ the + adj. + est

Example:
She was the cleverest girl I have ever known.
A cat is the biggest animal in this room.
Somchai is the tallest man in class.

การเปรยี บเทียบขนั สงู สดุ นีมี 2 รูปแบบ คือ รูปแบบแรก
จะใช้ the นําหน้า adj. ทีมกี ารเติม -est ท้ายคํานัน ๆ เพอื
เปรยี บเทียบวา่ สงิ นัน … ทีสดุ

โครงสรา้ งประโยคแบบที 2:
S + V. to be + the most + adj.

Example:
I am the most beautiful woman in this world.
This is the most expensive car in Thailand.
This is the most difficult lesson in the book.

รูปแบบทีสอง จะใส่ the most ไวด้ ้านหน้า adj. นัน ๆ เพอื เปรยี บ
เทียบวา่ สงิ นัน … ทีสดุ
